What is SBO?

Syndicate Black Ops is a Half-Life 1 modification made by early Streum On Studio that shares the universe with E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy! It's a co-op/pvp cyberpunk mod, known for its brutal difficulty and extreme levels of fun acquited in spite of it! For some gameplay snipits you can watch this video.

Installation:

Things you need to play:

1. Copy of HL1 with 25th anniversary update

2. Syndicate Black Ops[sbo.streumon-studio.com] mod

3. IMPORTANT! due to recent Steam update bricking SBO on 25th anni update you have to install a patch from MrCalvin so servers you join in (both listen and dedicated) stop freezing on MOTD screen.

Q: When do SBO sessions happen?

Usually on Saturdays at 21:15 CEST / 3:15PM EDT, but they can happen whenever.

Q: Where is the custom content?

The server we use does have FastDL though so you may not have to do that!

Q: What about some EYE co-op/pvp?

I had a feeling that a short update on the SBO was due, so here we go!

We're still running SBO weekly, at the same hours as always! A lot of changes and updates came into the MrCalvins' servers since they appeared as our default way to play. Most of the important stuff is heavily linked to a huge amount of fixes and patches by MrCalvin to default SBO features like (but not limited to):

spawner fix (we no longer get stuck in each other)
multiple crash fixes (co_appart water / toilet)
proper map vote menu
overhauled scoreboard (who dead, who alive etc.)
fixed spectating (plus first person spectate for SBO!)
loadout check plugin
anti-afk softlock fix

...and more!

There are also plenty of additional, new features like:

D.I.C.E rolls for random effects!
kart racing mode!
hats!
in-game radio (SBO exclusive on GoldSrc!)
SBO in-game achievements!
WebUI for in-game radio!

ALSO

Due to some unknown forces at play, it seems like SBO was hit by a Steam Client update some time ago, making it freeze upon joining in any server. MrCalvin kindly provided a fix for it, alongside an explanation on what potentially happened. Check it out here:
