Below is a list of things that desperately need a buff.

This weapon is one which I adore, simply because of its design. The fact that this little beauty exists between an menagerie of colour-swapped flare guns and shotguns, brings slight hope to my pessimistic heart that Team Fortress 2 still has quite a few original ideas lodged in it. The only thing that this weapon could use a buff in visually is a significantly more visable projectile, a fantastic example of a more noticable and appealing projectile is a mod which I will link at the end of this.

Now the issue of this particular weapon is the lack of survivability with it, you need to constantly be near a teammate and hopefully the rivaling team possesses a cocky pyro which will take pot shots with a flare gun or something of that nature from a far, and if you're lacking of either of those things, well, tough luck. You're going to get your ass handed to you consistantly if you're roaming about the place, which is a bit harsh honestly. Not to mention the lack of team awareness regarding manmelter pyros. On more than one occasion, I have ran to a currently smoldering teammate, only for them to run away for me as if I possessed some sort of plague, and proceed to die to the afterburn, and face-plant a meter away from a health pack.

How is this debacle remedied? Mini-crits on burning targets, that is why the Detonator is a viable option. Yes, it's boring and rather unoriginal, but this weapon would actually be decent if this. Hell, the release of the strange version of this could be tied in with this buff.
