Greetings!
While it has been a while since an update has been posted here, don't fret! The group is still here, alive and well. Moving forward with this Steam group, we'll be doing a little bit of organization for what the Steam group is used for, plus what the Discord is trying to be. So strap in and get ready!

For the most part, the club is running fairly smoothly. Our competitive teams are in full gear for the most part:
Our Overwatch team went 3-7 for the season, which does not qualify them for the continued National level playoff bracket. However, under the circumstances (roster fluidity, skill variation, late registration), it is still worth some praise for how far they've come. Congrats on completing your first competitive season!
Our Counter Strike team is also midway through their competitive season. Currently, they're resting at an 0-3 record. Thankfully, none of the games have been 16-0's (but it's been close). Hopefully, after more practice and dedication, the team will begin to pick up the pace and snag some W's.
Our Rocket League team is fully formed and ready to pounce on the collegiate scene. To my knowledge, they have yet to participate in a tournament. Hopefully they'll be a force to be reckoned!
Our League of Legends team is still looking for their fifth and final roster member. Fortunately, LoL collegiate leagues do not start matches until the Spring semester, so there is still plenty of time to find the right match. If you're interested, be sure to fill out the competitive play form at the bottom of this announcement.

In more casual gaming news, the club is thinking about hosting/paying for some gaming servers for popular games, such as Minecraft. This is still in planning and probably wouldn't be implemented until 2018, but it's definitely something to talk about. If you have any suggestions, be sure to check out the Discord.

In more club specific news, the club will be hosting another fundraiser! For the holidays, the club will be selling pies by the slice or whole in Sweeny Hall next Tuesday the 14th from 11am to 2pm. If you'd like to support the club, you can bake a pie and bring it for the club to sell, help sell the product, or advertise it to people you meet! Every bit counts!

Lastly is the delegation of what both the Discord and this Steam group is for. That hasn't been clear. Up till now, the Steam group and the Discord group have had the same function. Instead, moving forward, the Steam group will be for more gaming specific updates and organization (i.e. a Minecraft server) and the Discord group will be mostly for weekly updates about the club and more social than gaming (i.e. what it's used for now). Both the Steam and Discord group will advertise important things like fundraisers and events, but more specific, niche things will go to their more specific niche group: game related to Steam, social related to Discord. Hopefully this will make the groups more effective at what they're trying to do.
