Have you ever thought about Sonic? I mean, he always loses. When he "defeats" Eggman, that's just a robot. The levels are clearly not natral, not even Green Hills Zone. Eggman is placing springs, loops, tunnels, ruins, powerups, a factory even, just to keep the only thing that can destroy him busy. By that logic, Sonic and friends could very well be test subjects, rats in a maze. Blue, fast-moving hedgehogs and foxes with 2 tails. In Sonic CD, when you travel back in time you find lush, life-like terrain. But when you go forward in time, its.. all pollution and robots. With Eggman still pulling the strings. Sonic loses.

T'was an orignal theory. If I become famous, this is worth a lot of money.
