"The Unbreakable"

The 6th Holyrood Grenadier Guards are regiment entrusted with guarding Holyrood castle while the monarchy are present , during the Napoleonic wars they were pressed into active duty. They where designed after King George the third visited the Scots Greys Barracks in Scotland he decided to found his own regiment with similar uniforms and traditions. The first soldiers in the regiment we're formed from the officer corps of the Scots Greys , they also brought a select few NCO to help train the new recruits.

During the Napoleonic wars the 6th Holyrood guard took part in the peninsular campaign, this was the first time the regiment had ever seen combat and it took heavy losses. However during a skirmish with the French the 6th managed to hold a small village , but vital village against a French counter attack thus giving them the nickname "The unbreakable". During the battle the regiment was noted for using it's light company to kill enemy officers, this helped delay and confuse French forces while the Grenadiers fired volley after volley into the confused soldiers. Later this day the Guards captured an artillery battery and used it to turn the tide of battle once and for all.

This regiment is known for it's willingness to fight to the bitter end for king and country !
