Automobile Extravaganza

Description
This mod adds 16 game-friendly vehicles to the game. The vehicles are designed to look and feel like they are a part of the base game as much as possible and range from typical daily-drivers to capable off-roaders to high performance supercars.

I've had many requests to create this pack after releasing my cars individually in the past and I've decided that it's the right thing to do. Moving forward, new releases will be updates to this repository.

Features
Animations
Each vehicle has opening doors, windows, a hood, and trunk. Each vehicle also has an interior.

Buildable Armor
Personalize your apocalypse machine with some makeshift vehicle armor. Several vehicles feature custom armor that you can build and equip to your car. Right now the armor is just a fun visual feature and doesn't actually provide protection. I'm working on this, but I'm not a Lua developer.

HSV Compatibility
I've converted all of my vehicles to use the game's vehicle coloring system (the HSV system) so that vehicles are automatically given a random color when spawned. In addition to lots of new colors for each car, this also solves damage texture rendering issues (mostly) and allows the use of recoloring mods like Paint Your Ride to give your car the exact color you want.

Mechanic Compatibility
Removable/repairable parts with custom graphics. All vehicles use vanilla vehicle assets so you don't have to craft unique parts to make repairs.

Realistic Distributions
I love supercars as much as anyone, but you won't find Ferraris and Lamborghinis around every corner. Honda Civics on the other hand? A dime a dozen. I've worked hard to balance the vehicle distributions so they feel realistic, without any popping up too often but also not impossible to find.

Additionally, a few vehicles have random custom loot tables, so make sure to check the trunks or gloveboxes for some fun easter eggs.

Burned Wrecks
New burned wrecked versions of the cars included in this pack give variety to the major backups found around the world.

Your Choice: Real-World or Lore-Friendly Names
This mod has an optional sub-mod that allow you to select whether the vehicles use their real-world names (ex. Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota) or lore-friendly names (ex. Chevalier, Franklin, and Yutani). By default the vehicles use lore-friendly names.

Localization
In addition to English, this mod has localization for Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

My Ethos
  • My vehicles have a "vanilla" aesthetic. My goal is to make the cars look like they could belong in the base-game, following The Indie Stone's original vehicle art direction.
  • I only include vehicles that were available to the American public before July, 1993, when the game begins.
  • I don't make vehicles that break the game's balance. That means they're not overpowered, they're not super fast (unless they were actually super fast), and they're otherwise like the base game's vehicles. I've created some formulas to calculate everything so that it's realistic and works with the game.
  • This is made for people on lower-end systems. I use as few polygons as possible per vehicle, balancing detail where its needed to look good. I also maximize the area my textures use while optimizing the texture files as much as possible to lower their file size. No byte goes to waste.
  • Quality over quantity. I really focus on making each vehicle the best it can be, paying as much attention to detail as I can get away with without sacrificing performance. I spend a lot of time looking at blueprints and engine schematics and old brochures. As a result, each one takes awhile to make. But my hope is you appreciate the effort that much more.

Thanks
There are a lot of people in this community that I need to thank. The PZ community as a whole is pretty special and there is so much positivity and encouragement. As a result, the PZ modding community is such a welcoming one and all the folks that have helped me get started (and continue) deserve a special shoutout. Filibuster Rhymes has been my biggest cheerleader and mentor. Cheapie for her support over the years and moderating the Discord. All of my Patrons, past and present; this collection wouldn't exist today without you! And those that have helped me navigate the many facets and gotchas of vehicle modding: Skizot, fhqwhgads, mentalista666, Gabester, MrDanny, and Gustavo. It means a lot.

Guys, can anyone confirm that the "Paint Your Ride" compatibility is working for you? As there is literally zero mention of anything paint-related in the files of the mod, thus "Paint Your Ride" doesn't work with these cars
@Scandal sir, could you look into this please?

I like the inclusion of the Dust Buster Lumina. If there was ever a minivan I'd want, it would be that. Or maybe a Toyota Previa.

playin on b41 and for hundreds of hours haven't seen a single f40 or Countach and saw a 450SL HANDFUL of times. i think the chances might be a bit too low for them. usually in my playthroughs i explore every town and clear LV fully too

what happened to the singular versions on the workshop cause I like some of these cars but i'd rather not download a whole mod of 16 cars if I only want 2 of the cars

Hello! Thank you guys for this great pack.
I just wanted to report that compatibility with "Paint Your Ride" doesn't seem to be working for me. I also can't locate any line of code which pertains to this compatibility inside the mod files. Could you please hint into what file should I look?
