This game is great! I just completed my first playthrough on adventure (easy mode) and I'm staring a new play through.

They've added saving to the game, although it wasn't that big a deal before, IMO. Anyway, now you can save pretty much everywhere it makes sense.

So don't listen to the super negative reviews. If you like space management/trading/base building type games, and star trek, just buy it. You'll like it. But I do have one warning, minor spoilers ahead:

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER DO NOT GO PAST THIS WARNING IF YOU DONT' WANNA SEE ANY MINOR SPOILER THAT WILL HELP YOU PAST A BS PART OF THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU DON'T WANNA SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In chapter (sector) 5, they artificially cut your ship's power for the whole mission. This angered me a lot when I first encountered it and it took me awhile to pick up the game again. I'm glad I did. Just be warned in advance and prepare for it.

I'm in a room with a bunch of faceless, ruthless, pitiless, single-minded red men. They can't move (much) unless I move. I can dodge bullets. Sortof. Yeah!

If you liked the first game you'll love this one. RE: Performance - I have a 10 year old gaming rig and it plays the game fine. I did lower the refresh rate to 30 and did a few tweaks in nvidia control panel, but the game feels smooth and is pretty at those settings so I don't have a problem giving a thumb up!

Like X-Com meets Slay the Spire, meets a Persona game. Very well done, even if the writing is a little juvenile.

Lucky for me, I had this one in the bank. I played stick of truth, and this, for a few hours and abandoned them in the past, but after dusting them off, I'm really loving both games. Both games are funny, and the mechanics are fun as well.

I didn't like this game the first time I played it, but I came back to it after years.... and it's awesome. Funny and also fun with RPG-like mechanics (think Final Fantasy with south park characters). Definitely worth the money.

I have not finished this game, but it deserves a thumb up simply for its unique gameplay concept and excellent story/writing. Some of the puzzles are pretty difficult, which is why I haven't finished it yet. The game is so compelling I can't bring myself to look up spoilers for it. This is one of those that I feel like I will come back and finish but just haven't gotten around to.

Very dark, humorous, and well written. It's a gem.

Very short, cool concept but feels more like a tech demo. Story is painfully juvenile and boring... ended up just skipping it. Might be a great game for grade school kids but I didn't care for it.

I don't think I'll ever play this again, I sank WAY too much time into it originally, but I obviously got my money's worth out of it. It's been so long since I played it that any review I write would be hopelessly out of date and based on foggy memory, but I really liked it. I love the way bosses work: they only show up when you build the right stuff, and you can also build structures to fight them in. Really creative concept and they've added so much content since I played it actively, it's definitely worth the price tag.

Early Access Review
I really wanted to like this game. But I kinda hate it... almost everything about it. The UI is clunky, it's boring, it's non-intuitive, and it's been in early access for 13 years. I bought it kinda with the hope it might one day become a good game, there seems to be the shell of a good concept there, but it's clear that they're never going to polish this to a point where I as a player will enjoy it.

Suppose I might change this review if they actually release the game someday and they knock my socks off, but I'm not holding my breath.
