South Park: The Fractured But Whole refines the RPG foundation laid by The Stick of Truth by leaning harder into combat depth, customization, and collectible systems. The grid-based battle system adds positioning, knockbacks, status effects, and team synergy, making fights more tactical and varied. Artifacts, costumes, and character builds give you real flexibility in how you play, and experimenting with different class combinations and buddies keeps combat engaging throughout the campaign.

Customization is one of the game’s strongest elements. Between artifacts, costumes, cosmetics, and DNA upgrades, there’s a constant sense of progression even if the map itself feels more condensed than its predecessor. While the smaller world means fewer exploration-driven discoveries and achievements overall, it also keeps pacing tight and focused. Collectibles are still satisfying to hunt down, but there’s less incentive to wander compared to The Stick of Truth, which offered broader exploration and longer playtime.

Presentation is classic South Park: sharp writing, constant jokes, memorable cameos, and a soundtrack that fits the theme perfectly. Buddies and items are used smartly in both combat and puzzles, adding variety without overcomplicating things. Technical performance was smooth from start to finish, with no crashes or launcher issues between Steam and Ubisoft. The DLC isn’t required for completion and simply adds more content for those who want it. Purchased on sale, this was absolutely worth the time and money.

It was a great adventure. I liked the story, the combat... Overall 8/10 the previous game was just a little better in my opinion. But for whatever price you pay for this . IT IS WORTH IT. Fart on everything you can.
