It's just not worth the time. The focus is atmosphere, but it is not really there by the time you even reach the 2nd photo. All your attention is on the tedious calculations for "movement" (I will explain later) and the tiny radar. I wish I had more of an excuse to have to check around my ship, like the fire could have been a gameplay mechanic or something. But no it is just a one off event. All other damage of the ship is merely visual. So no, I am not stunned by the atmosphere, I am just focused on the bad gameplay.

Yes, the gameplay was not *the* priority, I saw some of the dev's comments on some threads. But come on, it is a video game. It is a Steady Hand Game, with awful controls. This did not need to be a game; the gameplay is turning and moving back and forth slowly, with weird "hitboxes" (I do not know what else to call them). Most games focus on the fun of the gameplay. Other games like Life is Strange focus more on interactivity at the cost of gameplay. Those games have interactivity worth the cost of gameplay because of how well they handle the outcome of interaction. In those games, your interaction matters, because you pushed the narrative towards the direction, rather than another. Here there is one interactive route, and it is a boring trip along it. The jumpscares are scripted, and the damage is scripted.

One might argue a game like The Walking Dead fails interactivity because their seasons will always end in the same last moment, with all routes leading to the same end. Yes, I hate that, but at least it shows me *something* new along the way. It shows more character depending who you save, which you would not have seen had you *interacted* with the game differently. Something which other mediums cannot do as easily; like film. So no, this is not an interactive game either. Me interacting with the game made it the same game like for anyone else who played it.

A game does not need to succeed at both being highly interactive *and* gameplay. But do one at least. That leaves story, and based on what my friend told me, the movie pretty much largely expands on the story found here. Here you will find a good set up, followed by nothing else. All but two photos are largely underwhelming; which is disappointing because I thought it would have set some lore. It does not matter how the journey ends because you'll go back with pretty much nothing at all learnt. Mostly skeletons and debris. Perhaps there was stuff in the photos I missed I do not know, but the visuals of the photos are of a low quality, which I know is the point, but still does not help this game.

At the end of the day, I am not offended by this game. I am happy David Szymanski found success, and I wish to try out Dusk sometime soon, as it seems that game will be better fitted for me. But I also do not wish to give false praise, and to keep your expectations at a minimum. This is a small game, as I understand that small indie developers will pump out something quick to fund their longer work, and I do *not* mean this in a way that Iron Lung is "slop". But it simply failed my expectations, and I am hoping people go into this game with those expectations in check, and to not let the excitement of the movie and the youtubers who played it to cause that disappointment.

If you're hesitant on playing this game, you might just want to watch a let's play instead, honestly.
