I used to play this game until someone in my Steam Family found it.

He won't stop playing it...

I wake up... he's playing it...
I go to uni... he's playing it...
I take my lunchbreak... he's playing it...
I go to work... he's playing it...
I get home, shower, make myself dinner and tuck myself into bed with my laptop with the slightest hope in the world I'll be able to play... he's still playing it...

If that isn't the highest commendation of a game you've heard, I don't know what is.

I have geniunely liked most HOI4 dlc's, even ones considered not very good. I thought BftB was good, BBA added a lot of content i quite liked and i thought there were enjoyable elements of ToA.

This DLC is straight up just not fun. It is a slog of removing debuffs and trying to build up your insanely behind industry. It took the power creep of Gottendamerung and combined it with the mundane gameplay of Trail of Allegiance. Where on earth did the focus tree's of No Step Back go, everytime you play those nation's there is new ways to play it, even if the balkans play extremely similarly.

Iraq plays in 2 ways, pro-british or anti-british and both suck ass.
Iran is worse Ethiopia.
Afghanistan is straight up just boring.
The Raj is just fine but way too meme-y

I pray on my dads corpse that the next Asia-Pacific dlc gives us an interesting mechanic and focus tree's that introduce new gameplay elements rather than "Mao declares himself King of England" or "Hirohito announces the Mario Empire".

People are complaining about how it feels soulless and more disconnected but this game is the natural progression from the first game.

Its less personal because you're running a city network of thousands of people. You don't know everyone in the city anymore because its a essentially a micro-nation. You're trying to run a city without being toppled or experiencing civilisational collapse. It balances that excellently. It definitely more forgiving than the first from what I've played so far but i don't mind that, i might replay it at a harder difficulty for ♥♥♥♥♥ and gigs.

I have two major complaints. One is that i wished there were more factions and they had more depth, the politics system is cool but generally easy to overcome. The other is that this game runs like crap and is horribly optimised like the first.

I only just figured out how to play the game properly after 490 hours (Apart from the Navy, still have no clue how that works)
