Great combination of strategy and luck, with enough secrets to keep you coming back for more!

I was really hoping this would be something similar to the early Might & Magic series or other dungeon crawlers like it. While it definitely has the old school look and feel, I didn't enjoy playing the actual game as much. I love that it uses minimal resources and can run on my ancient laptop! That was part of what made me wishlist the game to begin with. As soon as I found myself in a combat situation, I was immediately lost. The interface is hard to learn and I felt that the odds were already against me, as my teammates started getting wiped out quickly. The length of an early battle seemed to drag and I hadn't even been put on a proper quest yet, or found a town. The lengthy battle is even more trying when the group of thugs that attack me keep repeating some sort of battle cry that repeat like a car alarm, until the battle is over. I tried restarting the game a couple of times but again found myself in that situation and quickly lost interest in it. A look at the manual shows that a lot of care and time (20 years from what I have read) went in to making this game. I admire that dedication! That manual is massive and it leaves me feeling overwhelmed to just look at. This game is probably great, if a person dedicates multiple hours to learning all the ins and outs of it. I am not opposed to doing lots of reading and trial and error, if the initial impression is good enough. I just didn't get that from this game.

I used to play this on the NES in my youth. This is a great update to an old favorite! I love the updated graphics and it runs on my cheap, non gaming laptop.

With such a short length, this game is more of a diversion than a challenge. It's fine for what it is and I did not have any technical issues, but it was played in it's entirety in less than an hour. I purchased the game in a bundle with a bunch of other games. If I hade paid full price for this one alone, I would be wanting a refund.

I find the frustration of dealing with the AI and lack of save points to be far greater than the joy factor in this game. Unfortunately I had played for three hours before I decided it wasn't worth my time and could not get a refund. I like the concept of the game, but the gameplay itself is incredibly irritating.

I recommend this game if you are a fan of the movie series. I don't mean casual "I saw the one where Jason fought Freddy" fan, but someone who has sat through hours of Jason and mother hacking through camp counselors. This is far from a perfect game, but it is a great tribute to the films for the fans of the franchise. It is constantly being updated as well, so a lot of the technical issues are getting resolved.

This game is brilliant! I played it from start to finish in the same night. I couldn't stop! It's way more than a pretty text adventure.

I haven't got very far into the game yet and I am already a huge fan! I loved the first Lucius game. It had a great story line and was one of the most original games I had played in years. This "Demake" brings me back to the days of the Gameboy Color handheld system. When the Gameboy Color was a popular system, developers would work to make modern games playable on the handheld device, which was basically a portable NES. The technology of the time had surpassed the handheld Nintendo device in every way imaginable. Developers would have to come up with pretty unique ideas to make modern game titles playable on the little system and in my opionion, created some really cool and original games. I am loving the pixelated Lucius with the primitive soundtrack and old school graphics. A+ to the makers on this one!

I do feel that playing the original game made me able to understand what I was supposed to do in this game and it may have been hard to grasp the concept if I hadn't.

I purchased a few of the Lone Wolf books from a second hand bookstore, when I was in my teens. I loved the idea of a Choose Your Own Adventure style book with RPG elements. I played through the few books I had many times. They have always held a special place in my memory and I tried to turn my own child onto the books, when he was of an age to be interested. So yeah, this game played on my nostalgic memories and had won my favor before I even started a game.

The game gave me no technical issues whatsoever. It looks great, has a great soundtrack and of course, a great story line. It was very easy to get into. It uses so few resources that I was able to play it on my rapidly aging laptop and still looks great! My only complaint would be with the combat system. While you can plan a strategy for combat, there is an element of luck, as there was with the book series. However, when you enter combat and haven't been able to make a single move before the enemy dispatches you, I can't begin to tell you how frustrating that is. I had to repeat a fight with some middle level enemies four times, before they made a move that allowed me to make a move in my own favor.

So, this game is addicting, solid and fun. It can be incredibly frustrating at times, but the only reason it is frustrating is because I am so hooked and really want to progress in it. I love progressing in the game and I hope they will make more.
