Is Grimoire the exact same version on GOG than on Steam? If so, why is it on discount on steam but not on GOG? Thanks

Hello, I have been playing this game for quite awhile but I am completely stumped on a small thing in the Farulosonth Fissure. At the bottom of the Fissure there is a cockroach you are meant to lure -- and I have said lure: the Honey Baited Wick. For the life of me, however, I cannot figure out how to use it. I've done both the "USE" + click on item, and click item and drag it up to "USE" on multiple characters. The item has been identified using Improved Identify and a character with 100 Assay.
