This is the JRPG equivalent of a wholesome family roast chicken dinner, it's traditional and a little predictable but it's good and you feel nostalgic for it even if this is your first Dragon Quest game.

I can't stop giggling whenever I see "Activate P-Organ"

It's got some grindy elements however the story itself is pretty easy to cruise through and fun, the story is... there? but it's enough to keep you entertained because of the characters and the gameplay loop. The action isn't complex, you're not getting Devil May Cry/Kingdom Hearts but I felt it was satisfying enough to want to try different gear but imo majority of the non-healing spells are relatively useless.

7/10 game but if you're the type of person who only plays 8s, 9s, or 10s and anything under 8 is trash than it's an 8.

Buy it on sale.

I pre-ordered Type-0 HD to play a busted demo because I was so excited for Versus XIII, I played it start to finish in nearly two days after release date.

I never played the DLC until a friend gifted me this version, if you played vanilla on PS4 or you played the DLC as it was coming out and still didn't like it, play this version with no previous bias and you will more likely enjoy it. It's not perfect and honestly it still feels like a prototype what was imagined if you have read the book Dawn Of The Future but I still think it's a great game.

just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do the frog side quest, god it's so pointless

It had an astounding amount of content when it was in early access and the recent 1.0 just sent it above and beyond, this game is criminally under-priced. You will play sessions so long with your friends your ass will hurt.

I don't usually like MMOs, I've tried a bunch of them from GW2, WoW and even Aion but I genuinely really like this one however that being said, most of the vanilla quests are a gigantic slog so I recommend if you don't wanna pay for a quest skip, just put some Netflix in the background.

I almost bought a vita for this.
