I bought this purely so I could play/legally emulate "Virtual-On: Cyber Troopers"
Highly recommend, great game

I will change this to a positive review if WB, when shutting this game down for good, has every character and every skin unlocked for offline play among friends.

Not being able to afford anything/even buy more currency is such a huge blow to this games frozen state when its all over and will leave even this post-offline status of the game feeling even more disappointing and anyone wanting to play after May 30th will have to experience it in an incomplete state.

What if you didn't buy every character? What if you didn't buy every skin? Too bad, you can't get them, ever.

At LEAST give us that as a goodbye WB, please

Even in its demo form, (which you can beat in less than 30 minutes)
I have the strong feeling that this game (when released) will be one of my favourite games of all time
The aesthetic presentation perfectly captures and executes (pun intended) everything it sets out to accomplish
The controls are simple yet have plenty of depth and nuance, easy to pick up and fun to master
I've spent most of my time admiring the visuals and atmosphere, and the rest completing and then resetting all objectives just to do them all over again
I genuinely cannot wait for this game to come out <3

Honestly a heartbreaking sequel :c
I could never sing the first games praises enough and I just can't do that here
At first I somewhat enjoyed the new combat mechanics but now I can say they're really not anything to boast about, having multiple beam katanas to use just means that theres more options with less depth and definition of said beam katana mechanics and none of them pay-off in execution
Boss fight patterns aren't nearly as interesting or enjoyably challenging as the first games ones are, nor are any of the Bosses as memorable either other than designs maybe? You really don't get any regard for who these people are, their motivations, when the first game got that across in such little screen time for any of the original members of the UAA
No over-world takes so much potential charm out of it and makes a great amount of identity with it too
All the side jobs are achingly frustrating and even worse when only one of them uses the non-8-bit approach resembling any of the first games and it happens to be the worst one
There's genuinely no reason at all to do any of the side jobs when they aren't required to do the main story boss fights
Soundtrack is all over the place and its best parts are literally just taken straight from the first game
Story is just "who cares?", it just seems to drag on and not have any thorough pay-off
I started playing this because I didn't want to start playing it until I got every achievement from NMH 1, it was such a good game I felt indebted to 100% it because the first game gave me so much enjoyment, and I cannot envision myself doing the same for this
I really, really hope that NMH 3 is any semblance better than this because I would hate for them to just get worse and worse with each passing game :c

My absolute favourite single-player game of all time, hands down.
Fantastic from opening to end credits.
Played this on the Wii originally after wanting to play it for over 10 years (I live in the PAL territory and it's not super common to find here) and completed on there, loved it. Played it on PC, this version translates the motion controls very well and I was super impressed with how they made it work here, loved it.
Played it on "Mild" difficulty, loved it.
Played it on "Bitter" difficulty, loved it.
Even grinded money to get the Beam Katana upgrade that costs $999999 (took 3/4 hours to accumulate), still loved it.
Story is great, the soundtrack and it's leitmotif is my favourite of any game OST that uses a leitmotif, combat is great and super satisfying, all the Beam Katana variants have true variation, implementation and there's a Beam Katana variant to match whatever play style you mesh with the most and upgrades to make it even more enjoyable and make your experience somehow even better.
Travis' character arc is something I feel isn't really anywhere else in gaming, he really grows on you if he's not a character you like off the bat, and seeing him grow really ties the story up quite nicely.
All the UAA members are really distinct and you get a great idea of who they are in the short time we get to know them.
On my 4th playthrough I was still learning new techniques and enjoying the game as much as I did playing it the first time.
If this game interests you at all, I genuinely cannot recommend it enough, as I think it's one of the best gaming experiences you'll ever have c:
Genuinely 10/10 <3

Highly highly recommend. Incredible engine allows for almost infinite possibilities given what you can do even with your selected tracks at the time. Just when you think you've had your fill, you'll focus on a singular disc to use (bass, drums, vox or alt specifically) or even make a mis-click and just discover something you love that you'd never put together otherwise.

This game is totally AMAZING, the combat is gore filled and a more action packed approach to the metal gear franchise.
+Awesome customization
+Stellar story-line
+Epic action sequences
+Anime/Manga feel to the combat and quicktime events

-Not long enough
-Controls are a bit tough, but with tweaking they become really smooth
