I really like playing this game to kill time. There's no story, no progression, just a high-score game.
It runs perfectly on Ultra on the steam deck, too.

Broken sounds

Diesel engine thermals make no sense other than balance for the sake of balance.
The game is way too stingy with traction. A real 2 axle loco with peanuts for power isn't gonna slip at damn near idle.
Doing a job just slightly unusually will almost always cost you more money in fees than you make.
There's pointless licenses for stupid things like connecting MU cables or taking more than one job at once.
There's little variety in locomotives and cargo, and it gets very boring after a few hours.
Great game otherwise 7/10

EDIT: After Simulator, almost all of these points are null. The silly license things still exist but the train aspect of the game is finally fleshed out enough to justify needing a license for things.

Buggy game, oversights exist which lead to missions being in a state where they can't be completed

Old review: Don't recommend, Cyberbug 2077

New review: Genuinely one of the most fun games to play now that I gave it an honest chance. The world has depth, there's always something going on and the writing is superb. The dialog is like normal people talking, not two characters delivering story details to each other. The gunplay is fantastic and I think it works well. The cars could use some love, but I still get enjoyment out of driving, too.

Extremely relaxing game to kill time. Unless you hit a guardrail and get flipped over.

In typical ubisoft fashion, this game NEVER STOPS CRASHING.
