An incredible story wrapped in "eh" gameplay and surrealist aesthetics. I heard the infamy surrounding Omori, and was disappointed for the first half of the game with the limited scares and disturbing elements. Over time, however, the game grew on me, and I started looking in between the lines, seeing the story for what it was.

Realistically, the game is several hours too long, but I'll give it a pass with how chilling it can be.

Horrifyingly difficult, wildly tedious, and downright cheating at times, The Surge is an incredibly well-made Souls-like, set briefly before, and then after, a massive calamity that has sent fellow workers, and machines, into a frenzy. With a myriad of weapons, armour and bits-and-pieces you can inject into yourself, most of which I never actually used, there is something for every type of player (if you fall into one of three categories: 1) slow and heavy, 2) moderately paced and strong, 3) wickedly quick and fairly weak). I chose #3 personally.

I also never once blocked, since I never figured out how to successfully do it.

An easy-to-miss gem, Cat Quest encompasses the tiresome grind of other hack-N-slash-lite/RPG games, and presents itself as a fairly simple, cute, and surprisingly entertaining, game. Though the quest structure, story and combat is inherently quite basic, it didn't get boring during my one (and currently only) playthrough; though I can imagine respective playthroughs, especially in regards to achievement hunting, may wear the player down.

The story was easy to follow, and actually had a handful of great moments. The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly, with some fights becoming fairly tactical; these were probably the best moments (as the game becomes quite easy late-game, particularly when you have the best equipment) and caused genuine stress.

All-in-all, Cat Quest is a great little title that doesn't overstay its welcome, and keeps the players concentration long enough for a fun, 6-9 hour game (without new game+/mew game).

Brilliantly intelligent and exploding with alternative paths, random objects placed in seemingly impossible locations, and seemingly impossible to obtain objects that are actually wildly accessible, Prey offers an in-depth, almost mundane, look into the happenings of Talos 1, a space station whose itinerary features the construction of neuron-altering "neuromods".

Every single time I thought I thwarted the game, going to where I swear I wasn't supposed to go, it had a banana peel waiting for me to find.

The game, the myth, the legend. If you're not already playing this, your friend group is. A fun little romp that's worth the couple of bucks.

Coming from someone who dislikes Walking Simulators, Soma is fantastic.

I first watched a playthrough of Soma on YouTube a few years ago. The ending stuck with me more than any game ever had before. After playing through it myself many years later, it's safe to say that it still does.

The story is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring nooks and crannies, trying to find out what happened to everything.

My few gripes with the game pretty much boil down to the fact that I'm not particularly fond of the prolonged walking and fairly boring stealth sections.

But, the story is more than enough to win me over.

A grouse little game. The art is incredibly beautiful and extremely unnerving. The gameplay, though well-done, is fairly straight-forward and repetitive, which leads into a disconnect; "this encounter isn't related to the place I am investigating" was a frequent thought that I had.

I am, however, drawn towards the art and themes of the game, and still very much enjoy it.

An incredible game, akin to a surface-level Subnautica with machinery.
