It's like if Space Station 13 wasn't 50% furry ERP servers and also was underwater and also could be played properly with only a few friends.

This game actually just killed my laptop. It wasn't even like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ laptop, it ran the game fine. The game just randomly froze my entire OS, i restarted it and now my laptop doesn't boot. 10/10

I love this game, but I literally cannot within my right mind recommend someone buy this game for $25.

The good parts of this game:
- The whole concept is really cool and fun. Being able to solve actual unique murders never-before-seen by anyone else however I want is really fun to do.
- The whole world is simulated at once, which you would think would lag to ♥♥♥♥, but it doesn't really if you aren't running it on something old as hell. Makes the whole world feel alive.

Now the parts that hurt me.
- This game is extremely buggy. I have been clipped through walls (often to my death) several times. Sometimes your items just disappear. I had two kidnapping cases IN A ROW that I literally could not solve because the person who kidnapped them wouldn't try to pick up the ransom money.
- During my last playthrough when I finally 100%ed the game, I had only TWO cases that were even remotely interesting or difficult. I feel that there was not enough variety, and there wasn't really a difficulty curve as you progressed, and therefore it really stopped being a challenge at all after those first two cases.
- On the same topic, there is a mechanic where murderers can try and contact you to bribe you into hiding their kills. Really cool mechanic and all, problem is that it happened on literally every single murder past the first one I did.
- Every town, and many of the buildings too, feel very samey. I remember names, but the buildings themselves are so bland and ununique that I just don't remember what they look like.
- There is no autosave functionality, which is absolutely brutal as this game is extremely buggy. (There is a mod to fix this, but that really shouldn't be necessary.)

If you do want to get this game, please get it on sale. It's not worth the money in its current state.

Recently I started playing this game again, so I might as well leave this here.

I love this game. Excels in singleplayer or in small multiplayer groups. It plays like GMod with realistic health basically. Nice selection of weapons, maps & NPCs, as well as hundreds of props and static objects, and a full wiring system. Gore is well done. Has a relatively active modding community with a built-in addon system, although most of those mods are low-quality maps by 10 year olds. Combat's kinda meh due to the unusually fast speed of players but that's just my opinion.

My first problem with this game is bugs. NPCs constantly bug out, for example talking/attacking when they're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decapitated. Vehicles explode you into gibs instantly if you try to exit one with a wall next to you (or anything else that is mildly solid.) Hell, sitting down in a chair crashed me one time (as well as a server of 14 people.)

Secondly, cross-platform jank. Accounts are tied to your device, not your Steam account, which means that if you, let's say, get a new laptop, you'll have to entirely start over with a new account. This was probably Android users wouldn't have to connect a Steam account to play, but 1. you can just use two different systems for each platform, and 2. Android can't even play multiplayer anymore!

The third problem (by far the worst) is the multiplayer community. I have never seen such horrible, moronic and genuinely hateful people in a community since 2015 COD lobbies (not to say all of them are, there are lovely people I've met on Gorebox, but like 40% of them suck.) I have been called slurs more times than I can count. People spam loud-ass audios constantly. A significant portion of the playerbase plays multiplayer solely to be as obnoxious as possible. It's better now that they've disabled multiplayer for Android, but it's still pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bad. This problem is magnified by the lack of ability to set extra moderators/admins or permissions for specific players. Oh, and the unusually-large <13 section of the playerbase.

I have good memories with this game, and genuinely want it to thrive, but I struggle to have any interest in recommending it in its current state.

Still fun today. Doesn't look as good as CS2 ofc but most of the time when I play this it's with lowest graphics and texture filtering turned off so like whatever...
