tl;dr - Play the original Mirror's Edge instead, its writing isn't as poor and it's a better focused experience.

This game felt like it didn't know if it wanted to be about parkour or not.

We're given fast travel, so that we don't have to *run* anywhere.
We're given a rope swing tool so that we can shortcut across vast distances, and not have to parkour our way there.
Sometimes we're stuck in combat rather than running, even though there's a nice light attack that lets us bypass enemies and keep our flow while running. We even gain bullet armor from keeping the speed up, but no we gotta be locked in a room doing combat until we've defeated all enemies. ...Or we buy a hacking tool to just remove combat more or less entirely. So why even have combat then?

Some of the environments are a complete mess, where mesh collision makes us get stuck in awkward angles, or unable to climb, or get thrown off in weird angles.

Sometimes the turn around key don't turn the full 180 degrees before jumping, sending us off to our death.

The level design doesn't flow well at all in a lot of places, with the last mission probably being the biggest offender.

We're often expected to just throw ourself to our death, only to find a conveniently placed air cushion about 50m below us - it's like the game doesn't try to take itself seriously or even follow its own internal logic, at least based on how it's narrated.

The game sometimes arbitrarily forces you to either wall-run or jump when crossing a gap, with the other option for some reason just not working.

All the online features have been turned off.

It's gimmicky, too vast for its own good, some of the environments were a poor choice, the writing never gets good for either the characters or the overarching plot, and it doesn't play nearly as well for a game that otherwise looks so polished on the surface.

Only buy for 5€ or less if you want to study the character controller or environment art. Otherwise just play the original game.

updates keep breaking campaign progress. The game is atm buggy to the point of unplayable.

I just want to build some cool ships and battle, but the campaign makes you wait for minutes between turns, batters you with dozens of meaningless pop ups, only to then not give you a naval battle despite your fleet sitting right on top the enemy's.

A great game to play with your friends if you want a game to play together up to 10 people and you like the "Social Deduction" genre of games (e.g. Mafia, Werewolf, Secret Hitler and similar games).

It's fast getting into, doesn't take very long to play, and well worth the price.

Strongly recommended!

Controls are horrendous
WASD to move the camera - really?! Using mouse against the border of the screen was sluggish and slow.

No A-moving. What?

Random deselection of troops/buildings

Strange interface of all units - never knew whether I had a unit selected or not. Sometimes the game would assume I moved all units. It's similar to what I've seen in other games, but it was really poorly communicated to me and didn't let me do clean and fast execution. It added to a playstyle where I felt more like the game was trying to have me watch what was going on rather than actively play.

Starting units were incredibly unbalanced, to the point that some civs couldn't go out onto the map and capture points at the beginning, and some civs started with the direct hard-counter to other civs starting units. I don't have to say more, incredibly broken.

In general - the game's mechanics are really not tight. I would much prefer if the game assumed I had nothing selected at all times, and so when I select something, that is what I then control until further notice. Upgrades feels awful, because investments into tech feels more like counterplay than any form of smart composition or use of strategy. I felt like I sank all my resources into directly countering what units my opponent had at the moment rather than trying to achieve some meaningful long term plan for how to win the game.

I did not enjoy the game one bit, being a big fan of strategy games of all forms in general. With some huge improvements to UX design, maybe. But until then, absolutely not recommended.
