There's so much to love about the passion that went behind the entire Half-Life series. Half-Life 2 marked the beginning of a new console generation and set a graphical and gameplay standard only a few have since, in the past 20 years, yet to have come close to competing with.

In terms of gameplay, you play a shooter trying to uprise against an oppressive alien government force. You are led down a linear path, and your only goal is to get to the end through all the obstacles. The way you achieve that is your choice: aggressively kill all hostiles, run past them, use a gravity-gun to engineer a trap, etc.

In terms of story, once played you'd think it'd get old. However, it doesn't really overstay its welcome. I've seemed to notice something new about every scene hundreds of times after having seen them before. For example: in Kleiner's lab there's a functional mini-teleport device for small items, as well as a security camera monitor; both of which you can play with. There's just way too much detail to explore it all in one go, and it remains mostly unrivalled by other games to this day.

Overall, I cannot recommend Half-Life 2 highly enough. Especially after its been updated to keep up with graphical and user interface (UI) standards, since the release date about 20 years ago (at the time of writing this review).

This game is great. It's not perfect at always detecting all violations correctly, but it works 95% of the time, and once you learn the other 5% - you can just work around them to avoid any unwanted Conduct Point losses.

If you're not interested in a realistic depiction of police officer's routine, it offers a Casual Mode with more lenient rules - so you can play around more like a sandbox. Though, personally I prefer the challenge of the Simulation Mode.

Updates show new improved content, including sometimes new call-out types, which feature crimes. I bought this game before, or right around the time of the Robbery update, I believe.

If I had to make a suggestion, the one thing that is really missing from here is any intentional threat posed to the officer. The only way to be hurt is to be accidentally ran over in traffic. No one ever attacks you, regardless of what you do and if you justifiably or unjustifiably try to arrest them, they may only try to flee on-foot and that's it. Even if they turn out to be armed, they never use their weapons or even hold them. The game technically has an entry for "Justified Shooting with Gun" but in all my time playing I never had an armed suspect attack me or someone else to justify even having a gun at all, which isn't unrealistic for 99% of cops... but it's something one would expect to at least be possible in this game.

Quick, easy. Much like Pro 12 if you're familiar with that.

Features everything a video-editor needs.

Great, immersive, with freedom of player choice (to a reasonable extent) especially when you consider the modding scene. Visually holds up as well.

Be whoever, do whatever, your decisions actually affect the people in the world and they react to it.

If I could mention some negatives, which by no means trump the positives, it's that there are bugs and glitches sometimes, but that's all.

If you love roleplay like I do, you should definitely think about checking out this one.

Good old GTA IV, though keep in mind some radio music is missing due to license running out. That is a great shame, however the positive is DLC music is added to the radio of the original GTA IV.

It's very nice to just disable HUD and roleplay sometimes, and GTA V does allow for this with heaps of activities to partake in... except turning off the phone to stop all the marketing.

Fun, silly, though not as deep as prior in the series - but it only gets more wacky from here. Make any character you want of the same average height and DEFINATELY install a 90 FOV mod.
