Don't buy it. It's extremely buggy. You can't click pretty much anything, it's simply not working as it should. Waste of money, should be removed from Steam until the developer fixes it, which is unlikely because I see comments from 2-3 years ago about the UI not working and nothing has been done to fix it.

Small but very active and fun community of players. It's probably my favorite game ever.

Terrible. Just terrible. While the magicka language is always a lot of fun it kind of loses its charm in this sequal, you've heard it all before basically. The story is alright, but the first ones story was better. The game is a bit buggy, for example when I changed between movement modes between holding down the mouse to move and clicking to move they worked in the exact opposite way they should've, most likely because of a bug. Most of the game is too easy and the "puzzles" are just annoying, they're not clever, they're time consuming. Worst part is the end boss, I still haven't beaten her. Not because she's hard but because they for some reason thought it was a good idea to have your wizard basically play football with her, when the character moves in 2D and the ball flies around in 3D. Basically it's more or less impossible to outplay her little game. And even if you do manage to score a goal or two she's just gonna 1 shot you sooner or later, and you only have 1 revive no matter how long you run around. I could continue the fight for days if it was just a matter of beating the actual fight, but the ball flies all over the place, if she catches it you have to start over, she has a huge advantage in trying to take it, then you get in situations where you get 1 shot... Yeah... I would beat the fight in a single go if the game just went ahead and did what I told it to do. I can't tell you how many times she's killed me just because my wizard didn't put up an anti lightning shield fast enough.

My recommendation? Keep playing the first Magicka. It was much, much better.

Pretty fun little game that can be played when you don't have anything else to do. The UI was a big weird at times on Ubuntu, especially when using dual monitors, but otherwise I quite enjoyed it.

Great game!

If you have any interest in the Norse mythology, this is the game for you. It is a beautiful interpretation of the Edda with an interesting story. The boss fights are fairly difficult and the puzzles are inventive.

Prepare for a story time though since there is A LOT of running in this game and the enemies die in a single hit, the only really difficult parts are the bosses and there are only 6 of those.

I am glad I bought and played the game, I just wish there was more to the gameplay outside the boss fights, and more enemies of higher difficulty while running between objectives.

For this particular type of game I give it a 9/10, although I may be biased as I'm quite the Norse mythology fan.
