This is my very first Battlefield, so keep the perspective of a newcomer to the series in mind while reading this review. I cannot speak on behalf of the veterans who seem to be very divided on whether or not this game lives up to its predecessors, but I can judge the game for what it is to a person who has never touched another game of this franchise. Essentially, I will speak about this game as if it were in a vacuum.

I very much enjoy Battlefield 6. Firstly, the movement and gunplay is extremely intuitive and well-designed. This isn't a movement shooter like Overwatch or TF2, and it isn't a hyper-tactical game like Insurgency or R6; it is a meld between the two which I think is executed very well. The vehicle movement and controls are also very simple and forgiving, but definitely take time to master, just like infantry movement. I do like the concept of classes in this game; I think they serve very distinct and important roles if played properly. I also like the ability to have open weapons. It allows for some interesting subclass plays in certain scenarios.

The graphics in this game are stellar. The attention to detail on reload and firing animations on all weapons is unbelievable. With this superb detail however comes a lot of visual obscurity when in fast-paced combat sequences; soldiers' camouflage sometimes hides them strikingly well when you're moving quick and sporadically checking behind your back and side to side for enemies. I think this makes the game more realistic in a sense, which is or isn't a bad thing, depending on who you ask.

A contentious topic within the community are the maps. What I have heard from veterans of the series is that BF6 has the least amount of maps, as well as the smallest physically. From the selection that we have, some maps definitely do feel too small for a proper Battlefield experience, but some are perfect. I think Liberty Peak and Mirak Valley are fantastically designed both aesthetically and combatively, though others like Iberian Peninsula and both Manhattan maps seem far too small to have a real full-scale battle. The new map in Germany I also like a lot.

My only main gripe with the game is that the time that it takes to level up weapons is unbelievably unfair. To get every attachment for a single gun, of which there are more than 30, it takes close to 1,000 kills with it. This is simply not feasible for most players. Dice has said that they are going to alter this in the near future, but why can't they just do it now? A few other cons to this game is that it does not seem to be very well optimized, though it is slightly better than other modern games of the genre. You can get it to run surprisingly well and look nigh-perfect if you mess with the graphics a bit, but games just aren't optimized like they used to be. Also, as of recent, there have been far more crashes occurring than normal, which should already be low to none.

I won't get into the microtransactions part of the game. I don't like it and neither do you, but it's where the industry is right now.

All in all, I am glad to finally have joined the Battlefield family, and I think this game is extremely fun if you look at it without comparing it to the others. Even if you do, this game has a lot to enjoy. Those who have been playing BF since Bad Company probably won't like my takes on this game, but again, this is my first BF and really my first "mainstream" FPS. That being said, I look forward to what we'll get in the future, and hopefully Dice will listen more to what the veterans have to say. This was the most successful BF in history, and it would be a shame to let it fade away so quickly.

"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them."

Played since 2018, slightly after the release of Forsaken. Stopped just a few months ago, prior to the release of Edge of Fate. Destiny 2 is not the same game it was 8 years ago; quite the opposite. Systematic changes, hundreds of dollars worth of DLCs permanently vaulted (removed) under false pretenses that it was for "optimization", and core ideals that have verged so far off the beaten path that any content prior to July of 2025 is meaningless. I grew to love this game; I essentially made it my life for a good period of time, but the loveless relationship that Bungie forcibly shares with the community is eventually what killed any sentiment of respect or understanding.

If you still enjoy this game, I applaud you and so greatly hope that you continue to find enjoyment in the shell of a former top 5 Steam game by player numbers, but if you do not, leave and do not look back. The only thing left we can use as leverage is to let this game rot in the pit it has dug itself. If you really want to keep the Destiny feeling alive, play Rising, the far superior alternate universe game developed by Netease.

I loved you Destiny 2, but do you share the same feeling with us?

Played this game way back when Sunrise came out. It was a jam back then and it's as groovy as ever now. The newest update that officially supports mods (to some extent) is fantastic and will keep this game thriving for years to come.

There are few if any VR experiences that can live up to the incredible time you'll get playing HL2VR. It is truly like reliving the entire first-time playthrough all over again, something I never thought I could experience twice. The weapons all have custom reload mechanics, the aim assist and hitreg is actually really good, and the graphics, albeit stemming from the original game, are still fantastic even in the present day. I really cannot say enough good things about this. Play it for yourself and you will not regret it.

We all know that this game is not what it used to be. Though there were always paid aspects, the vast majority of the game pre-2015 was completely free to achieve, with buying currencies and guns only quickening the process of progression. Nowadays, this game is almost akin to most modern gachas, as well as just shoving ads in your face upon literal startup. It is predatory, it is annoying, and it will not go away. I still have a fondness for the game though, and as far as free to play progression goes, it is not terrible, but not good either. With the most recent patch as of writing this review, the devs have added tiered matchmaking, so no longer will you die immediately upon arrival in a match or shoot someone 5 times in the head with a Prototype for them not to die. This game is far past its heyday, but is it still enjoyable? I think so.

Early Access Review
Fantastic rogue-like dungeon crawler. I wanted to wait until I had more hours on this game to recommend it, but it is so fun and entertaining that I had to get my word out quickly so others could try it out. This is a must-have VR game; there are literally no other VR games that are both voxel in art and rouge-like in design. No two delves are ever the same, and the game can get actually very difficult if you boost the newly added difficulty modifiers for hard mode. The controls are also fantastic, I have never had any issues with them since buying this game. Overall fantastic randomly generated dungeon crawler that I have not seen done better in VR by any other contemporary games.

Truly the most cinematic game I have ever played. It felt like I was smack dab in the middle of a fully fledged million dollar budget movie at times, and no other game I have ever played in my life has given the same feeling that Black Mesa gave. As an OG Half-Life gamer knowing every map inside and out, Black Mesa is an unbelievably faithful recreation that adds on parts to the original story that are better there than not. I cannot even describe the sheer feeling of awe once I started playing through this game after playing the original Half-Life for years. If you are a Half-Life fan, or even just a Valve fan, this game is well worth the price and you will not be disappointed by this enthralling ethereal experience that no other game has ever given before. Words cannot describe this games beauty, so play it for yourself and experience what the best game remake ever made has to offer.

Got it like a week after it came out and I have not had a static wallpaper since. Finally I can have anime women moving on my desktop so that family and friends who walk by are even more concerned than before.
