A good game headed in a good direction. For every mistake I can name two things done right that most other games would probably fumble.

Bonus hot take: Aggression-based matchmaking is one of the most innovative features in this entire genre.

A worthwhile mobile title. This feels like Pocket Pioneers mixed with Palia. Unfortunately the Steam version feels more like an emulator than a port. It's still a better experience than playing on your phone, but that's because it clears the low bar of being stable on superior hardware.

This game also has a ridiculous amount of shops and currencies. To be honest it makes me more reluctant to purchase things when my money only gives me currency #8 used in shop 7 and 18. Please just keep it simple or I usually just give up trying to understand all the conversions until a specific item is extremely appealing.

Easy but massively needed PC port improvements:
- Camera control without barbarically dragging on the sides of the screen
- Custom refresh rates (currently specific preset values that peak at 144 fps)
- Ultrawide support. The lack of this is extra bad with how laborious the camera controls current are

I finished this game using a Steam Family license but purchased it after so I can leave a positive review.

Wishlist this and come back in a year or two. It's fun and fully playable now, but there isn't a large variety of content yet. You will get bored around a dozen hours.

Still earns a recommendation though.

The 100-150 hour solo PvE experience can carry this price tag alone, but the MMO aspect of this game is an abject failure. It's very hard to believe this was designed by a company that runs multiple other MMOs. Zero thought was put into multiple multiplayer mechanics and it actively hurts the experience even solo.

I look forward to changing my review to positive in a couple years when they add meaningful PvP and more than literal placeholder content for the end-game. It feels a bit unfair to leave a negative review, but players should not buy this game expecting anything beyond a solid solo Dune quest line.

The courier pet (the primary reason people are buying this) still frequently does not work. This seems fixed.. after a few weeks of not getting what I paid for.

I am disappointed that they added a daily Palia Coin subscription only to start selling things as "DLC" immediately after. This was primarily done to prevent you from using the premium currency that you already paid for.

Please just take my money and don't slight me with these shenanigans.

There is an okay game hiding in this rubble, but it's absolutely not worth $60 in the current state. Serious performance issues as well for how average it looks; frame generation is a must right now no matter your specs.

Well thought-out game and map design with solid co-op mechanics. It's a unique experience, but I certainly see the Half-Life inspiration. In my mind it feels a little bit like Raft: An unassuming game that expands into something engaging and special. I would play this again if the opportunity presents itself.
