I expected classic experience of old castlevania jank, which is true for half of the game; though since you get many better skills later on, the platforming becomes non issue
If you bought a "classic mode" and cried because of the platforming, then.. you don't know castlevania.

overall good experience, more than I asked.

8.5/10 action/grinding game that is held back by PVP. 5/10 total score

to elaborate.
-Netcode is strictly made for pvp, Co-op pve makes it hard to play as you're going to rubberband lag in all actions
-QoL options are held back by pvp such as shared container for crafting, have fun sorting 10+ storages
-Mod support is nay because of pvp.
-I don't feel like this is a good pvp game as certain builds are just nonsensical like unlimited healing from defense pawns
-Certain fun weapon/skill/build are castrated for the sake of pvp balance

Have been playing this game since launch.
I'm not a game designer nor an expert, but I know when game's good to play or when game's on right direction.
I think the new update is pretty great.

Handguns sway from 0.6 -> 1.2 nerf -> 1.0 buff in Unjust Patch

Devs loves nerfing stuff, sometimes making them a QoL issue weapons/feature.

Game's good, but community doesn't exactly welcome newbies or returning players and a lot of the times will result in votekicks without any explanation.

Last content update, 2017. Game's not on Valve's priority anymore, even though its still has a big active playerbase on top of being a fun FPS game.
Valve's ignoring bots since late 2019. first it was only lm***ox, now open source bots invading [aka freely distributed, everyone can use it] with their own trash gimmick, votekicking, copycat name, racism, and ruining games.

What a shame. The only way these are getting fixed/not abandoned is when valve's higher ups retire and pass on the baton to someone else.
