im not sure what this game is missing, it's like most survival games are 80% serious or silly, and this game hit 50/50/ i wanna like it, but the hook feels shallow.

very cute game. it does have a lot of back and forth, but the stories are nicely done :)

played at beta, and played it now at release, i think the devs screwed us. avoid until they fix it.

the game just, isnt fun anymore with the direction they went.

picked up the game when it released in EA, opted to wait until full release
full release and it feels very.... meh, shelter doesnt even matter, water and food are just kinda there without indication if your overdoing something till it's too late. it's just kinda generic raft based survival.

the good: EA (always suspicion) , feels like a few other titles played ( like risk of rain) .Session based, easy to pick up and put down
the bad: EA (always suspicion) , lack of tutorial , no pause.
the ugly: season pass on a EA game....

at this time i would suggest trying the demo and jumping on the game, but i have a lot of mixed feelings about the season pass approach right now.

for a EA game, the basics seem to be there.
overall, i do recommend the game as a alt to satisfactory or factorio ^,^

edit: i forgot to add, it took me about 3 hours to start understanding the flow of the game, and suddently i was at 5 lol.

the good:
the game loop seems established
the music is fairly good and doesnt get old
lots of resources (to start)

the bad:
polish on camera controls still to come
polish so everything doesnt look generically dull

the ugly:
the tutorial (or the lack of one in game)
need to test out stations to find out what they do.

TL:DR , dont expect hand holding... at all.. but the discovery phase of the game is awesome.

The bad:
what tutorial
physics are questionable, so is the people you work for
caves shouldnt be instant black

the good:
ramping up every map is not a terrible grind (2-3 hours casually ramping every map)
sessions are not host depended!!!!
tries to stay fresh is other harder missions
exotic gear unlocks not related to character unlocks, (keep your perm unlocks)

This game, 40h in, keeps surprising me with begging the nice balance of challenging and rewarding

Definitely a older style retro game made by a nice little indie team(2 people i think)
the game takes a little bit of learning and the tutorial(help section) feels lacking.

BUT, once you get the flow of what gets you what, it gets much much quicker.

unsure about repeatability once your good at it...., but at the price point, it's worth it.

Feels like a fairly simple game, the tutorial is non intrusive and i really liked that.
Music didnt get old even though it was on a loop.

Excited to see where the full game goes from here ^,^

short version, relaxed, simple factorio.

only played a little bit, got the key thrown at me from the devs
seems like a really relaxed factory game at the moment.

I'll come back and visit once it is out of EA
