Absolute tons of fun when playing with others... Will have to check out what single player is like. It's a lot harder than the game previews make it seem. Hunger and thirst are somewhat difficult to manage when just starting out, but the game gets significantly more manageable once a few things have been researched. I played for almost 1 1/2 hours before I realized you need to take sea water and fill the purifier with it to get fresh water (my friend had kept filling it when i wasn't looking, lol!).

I think the game is a bit unforgiving when it comes to the relentless shark attacks. We decided to play on Easy after we found out you can die of starvation relatively quickly on Normal if you don 't fully grasp the mechanics from the get-go. Even on Easy, the shark attacks happen so frequently that one of us usually has to stay behind on the raft while the other explores an island. They almost immediately attack one of us if we fall overboard, and it allows for a very small window of opportunity to search/harvest material underwater. I get that there's shark bait to use, but we haven't been able to catch any fish yet. Hopefully we'll get the hang of it pretty soon!

Other than that, I can say with certainty that I'll be playing this game for a while!

Truly a masterclass in fan-made content. Developers who are trying to bring back old titles should absolutely take their cues from the team that made this game.

I felt compelled to write a review about this game since I was really looking forward to playing it, but after multiple attempts to fix/adjust the video settings, I haven't been able to do anything to affect the lag and framerate issues. The game is constantly freezing every time I change the resolution, and dips well below 20fps every time I walk around, even in windowed mode.

For a game that was released in 2012, one would assume a laptop made in 2015 would be able to run it no problem, especially since I've been able to run more graphically demanding games such as the Portal games, Alien: Isolation, the FarCry series, and many others. I played the demo on my Xbox with no problem; silly me thinking the full game would be good to have on my laptop. Such a shame...
