It is fun, dont get me wrong but it is horribly over monetized. If it was just the standard constant fomo skin shop and lackluster battle pass I would still be annoyed but wouldnt care that much. That in addition to charging as much for each additional character as the base game costs (with no way to earn any in game) is like sand paper rubbing my skin whenever I launch this game.
I get you have to earn money but there is a limit. All this piled up is past that limit

Fun game

More polished than civ vii but that's not saying mutch

No civ game has been good on release. But the UI and QoL of this is inbetween civ 3 and 4. You cant even que up tech or automatically explore. Why cant I view the yields on tiles? There isn't a way to view all units. My thoughts on Old World were "the QoL isn't great but it's not civ, cant expect the highest level of polish". Well this is civ and it is worse than Old World. I know that this is before the official launch even but I would be embarrassed if I had my name on this. Another big issue is that none of the options are "fun", every civ and leader is kinda just generic goodstuff. Not writing off yet but it needs ALOT of work. You think that they would either delay this or crunch alittle bit to put out a product that isnt embarrassing, I dont even think it needs aton of work just a few more fun options, some QoL, and better UI all things that were in civ V and VI. Im not gonna say for sure but alot of this points at them trying to cut dev costs using AI.

Honestly I have no clue why this game has any negative reviews. It is a solid MMO.

Feels like a demo for an amazing game.
The story and gameplay have stuck with me though probably because it was all soo ritch.

Never has a game been let down so mutch by its strict adherence to a manufactured genre. what it does that isnt just copying fromsofts game is great and would be filling a starved genre if they continued the rest of the game that way unfortunately the combat is total wiplash

I assumed the green checkmark for steamdeck compatibility meant that someone booted up the game on the steamdeak and played for a few min at least. That assumption was wrong, this game cannot even get through the opening cutscene on a steamdeck without crashing. I tried all of this multiple times. If you let the cutscene play out and then reboot the game the level doesnt load and if you retry from checkpoint it plops you in a default city map with no objectives. If you skip the cutscene you can get in but it crashes right after, if you then reload that save the tutorial plays fine but the framrate drops to ~5 immediately after and the next cutscene crashes the system. Its a real shame
