Most good things from the 6 year old alpha have been removed or dumbed down. The game's website promotes "gear based progression" but the gear is region locked, so you basically don't progress as all. Unless you count a .4% increase to your lamp's light progression. Having to find the reigns, glider, and boat in each new region is a cheap and artificial way to increase play time, but it doesn't work because no one's crazy enough to think finding the boat 10 times is fun. I'd rather play the alpha. If Wollay had put out these changes little by little, the community could've quickly told him what they liked and disliked, and it would've been easy to fix. Instead he waited 6 years to put out a "finished" disappointment. I hope he doesn't use the excuse of "it's my game and my vision so i can do whatever i want."
