very slow and boring a dash ability or similar would be extremely welcome.

ive found the references to getasynckeystate (winapi call to getting input) with binary ninja

now id start running the game under a debugger to find where is the candash state stored but one of my hands is in a cast so i am unable to continue making my mod sadly

but if id continued if would prob just hijack something like version.dll and then overwrite the address on load with candash

so yeah
yup will do so and for save file modding itd prob be better to generally use a standardized format more often like json or yaml or some simple byte format

Yes. But as i remember we build game with YYC, and i think UndertaleModTool can't decompile it? I don't know much about GM modding, so if you will look into using YYToolkit "global.candash" is the var we use.

You can skip first 3 levels by editing save file (plain text) tho.
Windows: Appdata/Roaming/MalwareRewritten
Linux: ~/.config/MalwareRewritten
are you guys using game maker? since i am seeing data.win so i might just go and peek at the source and just enable dashing by default if thats the case. thatl prob fix the issue for me

The first boss is right after the first 3 levels, and while backtracking is a big part of the game, most levels still can be completed in 2 minutes or less. There is an intended progression in the game, and player has a dash ability for most of the playthrough (15 out of 18 levels)

If you want, you can enter konami code in the main menu and get level select menu with an option to enable all abilities and play levels this way.
hmm i think you should make that ability also be unlockable via a secret immediatly or similar
