I could never get into civ games. They are too lengthy, and I always felt overwhelmed by the number of decisions presented to you at every turn. Civ also has a lot of "dead turns" where you are simply waiting for a unit to get somewhere, or for a research to be done so that you can carry out more interesting actions.

Hexarchy addresses these problems head on. The games are designed to be short. The deckbuilding mechanic restricts your options just enough to so that the game flows smoothly without "analysis paralysis". Luck is a factor but it feels fun and balanced - it's nice to hit a good hand, but you have enough tools to circumvent poor card draws (destroying cards, pivoting to another strategy, etc.). It really does feel like every turn can be productive if you put some thought into it.

My biggest gripe is the lack of stats presented to you at the end of a game. I'd like to know how many units I built, and maybe some timeline graphs to show military strength, etc.

The game is very well designed, I fully recommend trying it out.

Quest 3 + 7800 xt + virtual desktop (av1 @200mbps Godlike resolution @90hz)

You need to use the custom Oculus bindings in steam vr. Once you have that set up, this game is pretty nice! Teleporting into staggered enemies is satisfying. Game is short, but I think that is okay for this type of experience. If you are a doom fan of any type, it is worth a playthrough. I'd recommend getting it on sale. 6 bucks seems reasonable

Works great in UEVR (VR injector mod for unreal engine 4 games)! Seeing all of the dirt and dust fly at your face in a stereoscopic display is a neat experience that you don't really get on flat screen.

One of the best VR racing experiences I've had (using the UEVR injector). The AI is pretty competitive, I'm playing through the campaign on hard mode and I'm usually finishing in the bottom half. I really like the star system where you progress and unlock new races by acquiring stars from earlier races. If you don't have enough stars to advance, you can pick and choose which previous races to improve on to get the higher star.

Overall this is a compelling game in VR

This game is really good solo, if multiplayer isn't your thing.

Two solo players modes:
- Regular rules vs bots (up to 3 bots). These bots follow the same rules as humans. They do a pretty good job even on normal difficulty.
- Automaton. You play regularly, but the bot follows a separate set of rules to accumulate points and trigger events. The automaton is cleverly designed and difficult to beat.

High replayability. Lots of different strategies and tactics to explore. Definitely buy this if you are into strategy games, especially ones that only take ~20 minutes start to finish.

Pros: theme, artwork, music, gore, combat

Meh: magic system. It's fun but needs improvement

Cons: insta-death spikes, clunky ledges and ladder interactions, cryptic storytelling

Overall was a good experience

This DLC is going to be perfect for solo players. So much fun to zoom around the map and look for new lines / jumps.
