I was blown away by the story telling in this game. I genuinely cared for the characters and their stories. I praised their successes and felt their failures. Great story, fantastic cast. Really brought me into their world. Play it all the way until the end.

One of the most underrated multiplayer experiences yet on a Call of Duty game.

This is a run and gun shooter with a retro feel to it. The object is to make it through each level by getting to the end. On the way there you can kill the zombies, or avoid them. You can also raid the stores, houses, and buildings along the way. In these building you'll find ammo, guns, and items such as water that you can use or sell to traders that you find throughout the levels. There's three different mods to play. Two campaign type, and one survival type. I flew through the first campaign in under an hour, and the second in even less time. Keep this in mind, as it is a very short game. The controls with a gamepad, such as the 360 controller, work flawlessly. I personally didn't use the mouse and keyboard with this one so I can't rate the control factor on that end. For $2.99 it's not a bad game, it offers local co-op, achievements and all that. If you can get in during a sale for like 66% off, as I did, then it's a steal. I had fun playing through the campaigns, but didn't much care for the survival mode only because that's not really my thing. All in all I enjoyed it, and think you will too. Just remember sometimes it's easier to hull ass than kill everything.

While not for everyone, I really enjoyed this game. There's a lot of customizing, and a lot exploration. Those comparing it to Dead Island, have not played Dead Island. Zombies on an island doesn't make it Dead Island. All in all it's about an 8 hour game depending on your amount of exploration it can be more or less. The controls on mouse/keyboard are lacking so I'd recommend a gamepad, which worked great. The graphics are very nice, and the soundtrack is eerie. The gameplay is solid and a lot of fun. For $10 on sale right now you can't go wrong. Looking forward to the update where you can play Co-Op Story-Mode. Also, can’t wait to see what DLC is in store for us.

Did I just beat someone to death with a Dildo-Baseball-Bat? Yes, yes I did. Nuff said.

This game is an open world FPS/melee with RPG elements and it is put together phenomenally. I've played through the campaign 4 times (Three times on PC, once on Xbox 360), and both versions of the game were great (It’s also available for PS3). The story is solid and a blast for anyone into zombies. You play as one of four characters each with their own special ability, and short 2-3 paragraph backstory. The game is a lot of fun alone, but a blast with friends. It supports 4 player online co-op! It's a huge game that could take anywhere from 10-12 hours to play through, even longer if you do all the side missions. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Borderlands, because it is very similar. There are guns, but the focus is more on melee weaponry like that of Dead Rising. With lots of things to kill zombies with you'll have a blast just exploring the island and killing everything in your path. I cannot stress how much fun it is with friends though. My brother and myself have put countless hours into this game and made some fun memories, some at the expense of game glitches. It's a blast to upgrade your weapons and drive vehicles off cliffs, vehicles that are seemingly indestructible I might add. Sometimes the shear mass of the open world can feel tedious, but they do off fast travel from certain locations. The characters themselves are ridiculously stereotypical, but that adds to the fun. My personal favorite is Sam B, an African American from New Orleans. There’s three others to choose from, again each with their own special ability. There’s also a majority of zombie types, the typical ones, the fast ones, the super strong tank like ones, exploding ones, and so on. You’ll have your work cut out for ya. Great gameplay, and a fun multiplayer experience earn this game my recommendation. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

I bought this game during the Christmas sale because it was like 75% off, totally worth it even at full price. It's your basic over the head shoot 'em up zombie game. Alot of fun though. I've played through every level and that hasn't stopped me, it's a ton of fun to play through again and again.

While there is room for improvement, this game is something different when it comes to the zombie genre, bringing exciting new things only explored in Day Z. The War Z, while comparable to Day Z, seems a lot more polished and honestly more fun. Nothing beats bashing a zombie’s skull in with a flashlight in the dead of night while cornered in an alley way in Boulder City.

This is the game that redefined co-op for me. I’ve always had a blast playing games like Halo, Counter-Strike and other FPS’s with friends, but when I first picked up the original Left 4 Dead back in 2008 I was introduced into something completely different.

When I would play my other FPS’s online I would do the standard 4v4. While I always had a blast with the typical Team Deathmatch style play there was something missing. No matter how many hours I spent with my teammates fighting the four opponents on the other side, I felt the emptiness. It needed something more. I wanted to fight more opponents, hordes of them.

In 2008 Left 4 Dead was released and was the answer I had been looking for. Not only did I get to fight hordes of opponents, but those opponents were undead monsters known as Zombies. The basic concept of the game was as follows, get from point A to point B. A relatively simple concept except when there’s hordes of NPC’s coming at you in the dozens. I was now teaming up with my buddies in a fight for survival. This wasn’t kill the other team, first to 50 wins. We were looking for safe houses across cities and towns all while being pursued and fighting through countless waves of Zombies. Every boy’s wet dream.

In 2009 Left 4 Dead 2 was released and built upon everything great that was Left 4 Dead. In the original game you had guns, and while you had the ability to swing your weapons (pistol, shotgun, etc.) in a melee sort of action the people demanded more. The sequel fixed this by giving you the ability to carry actual melee weapons. Be that an Axe, Baseball Bat, Machete, and so on. This is a fantastic addition. Now I am leaving my mark. Literally. The countless limbs and heads that will go flying in a single match is amazing.

In the original there was two types of zombies. Common Infected, and Special Infected. The common ones were your typical 28 Days Later type of infected that come running at you trying to bash your brains in and kill you. The special infected were different. There was one known as a Boomer. He was a swelled up fat looking zombie that would spit a nasty bile on you that would attract a horde of common infected. If he got too close to you, or you shot him and were in short distance he’d explode. His bile filled body covering you as well. There were a few other special infected as well. The Hunter, a zombie that stuck to the shadows and pounced on you leaving you defenseless unless a teammate came to your rescue. The Smoker, similar to the Hunter except he has a long tongue that wraps around you pulling you away from your teammates and towards him. The Witch, a zombie who packs a punch and has a decent amount of HP. The Witch is often sitting on the ground crying and is sometime avoidable. She will only attack you if startled by gun fire, your flashlight, or just getting too close. Then finally The Tank. The Tank is your typical powerhouse zombie with a butt load of health and able to hand out a ton of damage. Left 4 Dead 2 added to these by bringing some more freaks to the table.

There’s the Spitter, a nasty one. She spits a green acid the deals damage to you if it hits you and also leaves a puddle on the ground that hurts your health if you walk on it. The Charger, a larger zombie that sprints at you, grabs you, and repeatedly slams you on the ground until you’re rescued by a teammate or incapacitated. There’s also the Jockey. He jumps on your face and takes control of your movement taking you away from your teammates, towards cliffs, zombies, or whatever will harm you and you are helpless unless a teammate shoots him off. Theses added to the game, but they didn’t stop there.

Along with additional Special Infected, Left 4 Dead 2 added Uncommon Common Infected (UCI). Uncommon Infected were just like the Common ones, but had added abilities. Depending the map and environment you’ll come across different UCI’s. Some done CEDA suits and are immune to fire, some have hard hats or wear riot suits, some move on all fours and are quicker than the others. These types of zombies are more common than the special infected, but differ because they only appear in certain areas or levels.

Left 4 Dead 2 also added a bunch of new campaigns and four new survivors. All this coupled with the new modes added online, such as Scavenge and Realism, make this a fantastic purchase. They also include the original game ported over with the ability to use the Melee weapons and face the new Special Infected with the original survivors and levels. Talk about value.

All in all, I’ve had a blast with the time spent playing this game. I loved the first one, and the second one has only expanded on that. I know Valve has a problem with the number 3, but when and if Left 4 Dead 3 ever show up, I’ll be ready for more.
