The setting is sci-fi, with the story taking place with people playing a MMORPG.
Dungeons stress puzzle solving using parkour mechanics (Your character jumps when running to an edge) with puzzle mechanics ((Box sliding to room-wide multi-part puzzles)). Very little of any dungeon is dedicated to combat besides the boss and unique dungeon enemies/encounters.
Combat mechanics are decided largely by proper use of a guard/shield and dodge mechanic, with difficult enemies requiring a mini puzzle to be solved ((Hit the enemy with shock energy at this angle to build a meter to make it vulnerable, throw a projectile at the correct time to make it vulnerable, dodge these specific attacks before attacking))
Leveling up is comparable to Final Fantasy 10's sphere grid more than secret of mana.
If anything I'd compare this game to Bastion, Final Fantasy 10 and .Hack//Sign.
