What is up with all these devs these days hijacking the MMORPG genre for their games which clearly do not belong therein?
Games which does not even run on a persistent server. Does not allow for more than 5-99 players. Do not have GM's or any moderation. Which are a few of the BASIC fundamentals of a MMORPG.
For them Destiny 2 is the same as FF XIV. Fellowship the same as World of Warcraft. Dune: The Awakening the same type of game as Elder Scrolls Online. It's b0nkers.
It's completely obfuscating the whole purpose of having genres in the first place. Words have meaning. For a reason.
I know the newer generations like to hijack every existing entertainment franchise, genre, IP and whathaveyou and try to change it into their own, but hey, come up with your own maybe?
