ESO Key Points:
1. Character leveling isn't difficult and there's room to customize (different races, classes, skills, appearance, etc). Starter dungeons & trials (raids) are easy and worth doing.
2. There is a LOT of story and content available (even in the base game without any other DLC). ESO is good whether you prefer to play solo or in a group
3. As ESO has been around for several years, there are tutorials on every little thing in the game. You'll always have resources if you get stuck.
In contrast, New World is more shallow on PVE content. I think for a new MMO player, it might begin to feel frustrating and grindy at a very early stage. New World is not a bad game, but ESO does outshine it from a new to MMO's perspective.
