With this many hours down, i can genuinely say that i like this game :) It's a very addictive and cool space MMO. It's one of the best player driven Eco systems i have seen out there but also it's super hard to understand and get into. So my advise to you is give it time, take it slow and try to understand what is going on around you. Stay close to home in the beginning and hunt pirates and do npc things before heading out into wormholes and other "star systems" :D Also you are always welcome to lookup Bearstone Slavage and Mining if you need a hand or just have questions in-game.
