A very satisfying, lore accurate, base-builder/survival/3rd person action game.

This is a really fun game. Not quite as a good as Timerborn, but quite a bit better than New Cycle.

Initially I thought it was a little on the expensive side. But holy crap is there a lot of content. It reminds me of Roller Coaster Tycoon - but instead of a theme park, its Kazaad Duum

An absolute masterpiece. This made me fall in love with pixel art.

I have been following this game since the Kickstarter campaign and I would highly recommend it, especially to fans of platformers and metroidvanias.

The controls are super responsive and are really nice to use. My only complaint about the control and movement is that during some “portal” switches, you gain the portal mechanic before the portal animation is finished. There were a few puzzles that required precise timing and it wasn’t until I understood this concept that I could easily complete the puzzles.

The art style is really beautiful. Due to it being hand drawn, the character animations can feel kind of static and blocky. But after you immerse yourself in the world it becomes hardly noticeable.

The puzzle difficulty scale is reasonable. There are plenty of “easy” puzzle blocks that build you up to solve the more challenging ones. I haven’t finished the game yet, but there hasn’t been any puzzles that I found too challenging that would have caused me to ragequit.

I absolutely LOVE the different portal mechanics. The very first mechanic, and the one that was demo’d during the kickstarter campaign, is kind of basic. As it should be for the first mechanic you are introduced to, but how they were able to build off of that to create 10 unique mechanics is absolutely brilliant.

What I think separates this game from a masterpiece such as Hollow Knight or Ori is the writing and the soundtrack. They're not by any means bad, but I would rate them as Average or Good. For me, the gameplay is the most important part, and in Unbound: Worlds Apart, they pass with flying colours!
