This is the best multiplayer shooter ever made. Period. Every game afterwards couldn't capture it all.

A short but sweet 3D search action game with a rather sexy goat. The basic controls of moving Sybil around and bunny-hopping, trying to get as high as possible, all feel great. It's a little easy to get lost early on when your abilities are more limited, but it's a minor quibble.

Note: Playtime is probably closer 40/50/60/ god knows how many, from web browser hours.

Because of Cookie Clicker, I've really gotten into the idle/incremental game genre. I don't even remember what I was doing that prompted me to have something on in the background that gave me a sense of progression. I've always been the type that's enjoyed the feeling of something going on in the background. Does anyone remember when computer upgrades and installations took a long time? If you know that feeling, Cookie Clicker and lots of other games will give it to you once again.

Here's the thing though, the winning strategy in Cookie Clicker, at a point, is not really about idle time or improving production means. It can be, but you're going to find that it'll go so unbearably slow that even leaving the game on overnight will not assist you much. Instead, it's about playing the odds and trying to hit the Jackpot on Golden Cookies. This is pretty fun in its own right, honestly, but you should be aware of that going into it. The actual number going up stops feeling good when you're making septendecillion cookies a second.

Cookie Clicker is the game that started it all, a sort of baseline for this genre. So I recommend it based on that. The Steam version runs nicely, the cloud saving and soundtracks are worthwhile features. Go and play this, and then find more games in the genre and hone your taste. Cookie Clicker is awesome, but it's not pure idle and incremental gains. It is a ton of engrossing fun though. I support everyone who has those 1k hours in it.
