I liked the setting of conflict and application of time. Your heroes die, either by getting killed or by age, but through bloodlines you are able to pass on some of your hard work. Overall game length might feel a bit longer than necessary, because fights get a bit repetitive towards the end, but I wouldn't say it is too much. I also really liked the soundtrack.
