God Eater 2 does a good job of being a more actiony, less grindy Monster Hunter knock-off. The combat feels weighter than Toukiden, and instead of just "go kill this one monster" the quests are usually populated at least with multiple monsters, if not multiple types. The storyline and cutscenes and character designs and writing are all anime af though, but most of that seems ignorable or skippable so far.
