possibly the first of it's kind, before node-buster took the world by storm, it's really fun but honestly a total slog. Alot of my playtime was AFK, probably about a 10 hour game if you play actively. But its kinda mechanically frustrating to actually play the primary game loop. You get stuck on everything and the numbers always feel so lopsided that you're never really feeling good about it. That said, if you can meet it where it's at, being a little older and less polished, its a good experience overall. 6.5/10

A much slower and more casual node-like. No 20 second looping mini games to go with the skill tree. There's automation and you can do as little or as much as you want, I ended up somewhere in the middle and the freedom to do so felt great. Very enjoyable and addicting little game, a breath of fresh air that combines many genres into a pleasant, if not somewhat repetitive, experience.

Damn, I've played a lot of node-likes now and this might easy be top 3. It only took a few hours but I was hooked and had to finish it in one sitting. Its not particularly complex, but the gameplay is so satisfying and DAMN whoever made the BGM did such a good job it was a great choice for the vibe of the game. Don't play this with netflix open and the sound off. Just play it. Extremely satisfying experience, I look forward to playing it again after a year or two.

I've played a lot of the node-likes and this is easily one of the most "mid" of them. I didn't take me 5 hours I had some afk time in here. Its mostly fine. One of the places where these games can shine is where you can make decisions. Sure, you make some, but you end up needing to unlock nearly everything to finish the game so there's really no room for player creativity. My biggest problem is the Cleric, he feels like hostile game design. When you unlock him he only knows the healing aura, which is great. I even spent perk points to buff his healing aura. But if you make the fatal mistake of unlocking his other nodes, in a game where you unlock nodes, he gets much worse. One of his other aura's is ok and the third one is all but useless. Getting more gold is always worse then buffing your party so they can kill more things to get more gold anyway. You can't refund his auras and they just randomly cycle, his "ability" is to make the aura last longer so its intended design for you to want to have favored auras. There is a single prestige (which was kinda unnecessary but it added some length to the game so whatever) so thankfully I was able to make the decision not to unlock his auras the second time. Just level up his healing and then leave him alone. Or better yet, play one of the many other node-likes instead. Sure the game is cheap but most of them are so that's not really a good arguement. Sorry Patryk, its cool, but it could have been more. Good luck on your next project. <3

Used to play a lot of dnd, but my dm and I are short on players these days. This game is scratching the itch, its on sale for less then three dollars so I got a copy for him too. I've played for almost 7 hours and still feel like there's so much left to do and so little time to do it, lots of fun so far.

Really hard to recommend for one specific reason. I encountered a game-breaking bug on literally my last decision in the game, choosing one way, the one I wanted, soft-locked the game. So after some googling and restarts, I had no choice but to choose the other option. I'm okay with the ending I got still, but it didn't feel authentic to my entire play-through up to that point and how I felt about the decisions I was making. Its unlikely you'll end up in the same spot, only one person on the internet has mentioned it so I think I'm just unlucky. So outside of all that, its a great game. I got it on sale, it seemed pretty boring but I was in a detective mood. After a few months of never booting it, I finished it in two sittings. It's hard on you, both intellectually and morally, the score, voice-overs, and art are all good enough to carry the story.

The game is years old and I'm doubt the devs would care about fixing anything at this point, but in case you read this I kept a copy of my save file and would be happy to send it to you so you could investigate.
