Well, the bad news is that God will " render to every man according to his deeds " (Romans 2:6). "What's bad about that?" you may ask. Well...

"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

And the way of peace have they not known:

There is no fear of God before their eyes " (Romans 3:10-18).

" Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus " (Romans 3:24-26).

Basically, you believe in Jesus and you are good to go. Doesn't matter what you did, how bad or how much. Jesus took that all out of the way.


I could go on the typical rant how you need to "commit your life to Jesus" or "obey the Bible" or yadda yadda yadda. I'm just going to tell you this:

" I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me " (Galatians 2:20).

" This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? " (Galatians 3:2-3)

So, you start out believing, and you simply rest in Jesus, because He is going to do all that "living for Jesus" for you, without your help. Don't listen to the clowns who tell you to read the Bible for 5 hours a day and that you need to pray an extra 6 hours to really "get to know" God. You can if you want, but God is gonna do what He's gonna do without your input. In His eyes, you are good to go thanks to Jesus.
