Early Access Review
Yes, the game has issues. Yes, they have a lot of work to do to improve the gameplay and stability. However, keep in mind that there isn't anyone else that has a 99-player battle royale game that takes place on one big map that requires constant rendering and generating.

That being said, this game has a lot of potential and the team behind it seems determined to try and make it as best as it can be. It will be a long while before we get the ideal battle royale game, however this is the one that I belive will achieve that goal.

Easily one of the best RPGs we've had since Fallout: New Vegas.

Well after a year off from Assassin's Creed games I didn't think I'd pick this one up. However I figured since I own all of them (mostly on Xbox, but I have a few in my Steam/Ubisoft libraries) I'd give this one a shot considering I enjoyed both Unity (post-launch) and Syndicate.

Pros
  • The most ambitious map since Grand Theft Auto V
  • Plenty of side content available both during and after the main story
  • Very interesting and somewhat dark origin story for the Assassin's Order
  • New Present Day character who is as interesting as Desmond was in his first appearance
  • Definately more fantasy/magical elements balanced very well with historical information and events

    Cons
  • I'm not personally a fan of the new combat system, it feels a little arcadey to me
  • The new Eagle Vision, while fun to play with at first, I think takes a little away from the interior scenes of the game
  • TOO MANY MICROTRANSACTAIONS (yes, you can play without them and it's totally optional like with Shadow of War, however given the state of the "lootcrate" system in gaming, I'm gonna list this a con out of prinicple, just my opinion)

So I enjoyed it. I'll be playing more of it and attempt to 100% it as I have with every other Assassin's Creed game before it. Ubisoft made a great leap forward for the franchise and, for the first time since Revelations, I'm really excited to see where the series takes us next.

The new mechanics and powers are very interesting and add a new depth of challenge to the game. It almost feels like it's own game mechanically, however it using the same engine as Dishonored 2, obviously, and therefore all the other elements remain the same.

The replacement of the mana system with a recharge time was interesting and worked well for the new powers given to Billie Lurk, however the Original New Game+ lacked by only giving the player a few of the powers from Dishonored 2 and those powers didn't fit the new recharge system too well.

DotO also lacks a chaos system, which existed in the previous Dishonored titles. While it was weird to not receieve a chaos rating, or have your actions really influence the available endings, the chaos system had minimal effect on gameplay and therefore it's absense isn't noticeable.

The story is where I got the most enjoyment. Expanding the lore even more, DotO continually shows the creative minds of Arkane hard at work. From the cult obsessed with the Outsider to the Overseers of the Abby, every aspect of the lore is expanded and really highlights how deep and fansanating the world of Dishonored is.

All in all I'd say it's a good way to end the "Kaldwin Era" of Dishonored and I hope they decide to continue this franchise with a new slate in the future.

It's been several years since Bethesda gave us The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and even now it still holds up. The ever expanding mod community makes the game fresh with every playthrough. With every mod the player installs, a new perspective is added and the game feels unique and new again.

While some mods do require some beefy machines to run, such as the massive Requiem Overhaul Mod, some mods are just as massive and immersive that can run on lower quality machines. Such mods include Frostfall, The Sinister Seven, Undeath, and many many more.

In all, still in 2015, Skyrim is a amazing roleplaying game that, thanks to the mod community, is still a absolute joy to play.
