The plot is okay (nothing special, nothing dreadful)
My issues with it are:
It has not aged well QOL wise which is especially disappointing as bringing it into the modern era feels like what the definitive edition should have been doing but instead it just made it run awfully, somehow feeling worse that it did on the PS2.
The mission designs also feel very dated (go here and kill x people in x amount of time, rinse and repeat).
Most of the game is just plain forgettable as well. With the only names I remember being the names of a few of the mission givers, Hell I didn't even know the main character's name until I heard it in a Youtube video.
Every single car without exception is made of paper mache, with only a couple of light taps for them to burst into flames and explode.
A complaint I also had as a completionist is that some missions will just skip and lock you out of other seemingly unrelated missions without warning and lock you out of a 100% playthrough.
A small gripe is that as you complete missions and make enemies of other factions they will shoot at you on sight, which is fine on foot, but if you are in a random car that you just stole they will still recognise you somehow.
The GPS is also a mess with it giving you a not very direct path with 10x more turns than necessary.
The traffic is classic gta traffic with them turning whenever they want which is even more of an issue in this game due to the paper mache cars.
There are also a fair amount of bugs, only one or two that caused me to restart missions, but still a noticeable amount. Biggest one being that randomly when I paused, upon unpausing the game would become a stuttery mess until restart.

Pretty much everything about this game is great. Thoroughly enjoy playing it and it has plenty to do.

Missed the tiny section about this being a paid monthly service and bought the game on a steam sale. Installed the game and input the code to activate my license, by the time I got around to playing the game my month had run out.
While yes this is my own fault, I am giving this a negative review because I do not like games charging monthly and it should be made more clearly on the steam store that this is not a permanent license.

Me and a bunch of friends bought this game to play together thinking that it would have online co-op. However, it does not, granted I should have checked if it did or not but I feel like this style of game NEEDS online co-op as the game seems like a bunch of fun but not having it means that many will not be able to experience the game.
The game not having online co-op really confuses me as the game was released mid COVID pandemic where people would not have been able to play a couch co-op game.
And for those that say it has Remote Play Together, Remote Play is awful and games are literally unplayable through this service.

Absolutely awful to play multiplayer on
The game gives each player individual storages to loot, however, player 2 consistently gets much less of them to loot. Leading to them not having as much/as good of gear as the host.
The loot grabbed from the world is individual and is separate between players with the exception of the big bag loot items needed for the communities, with any you deposit as player 2 being donated to the host. This leads player 2 to not be able to craft anything in the community and the host has to do it for them.
This is the massive issue with the multiplayer where is wants you to work together to progress but one player just gets left behind.
Another issue is that (I don't know if this was my game bugging or an intended feature) but I am not able to heal myself over time in the hosts game where I play another character to let the other one heal. I left one character at the base for about 3 in game days and they were still injured.
These issue mean that in order for both people to progress you have to swap between games.

Other than the multiplayer the game is just a copy+paste of the first one but worse, there is no overall story and the gameplay loop gets boring quick.

The game is my favourite game of all time. However, recently it had been frustrating to see the path it is going down.
Admittedly, most of negatives I see with the game are not going to affect everyone but for me, who likes to get all of the skins it is annoying to see.
The game is becoming increasingly more expensive to get the skins and the money they get from this does not seem to be being used to improve the game.
Every DLC they add is more expensive than the last for the same amount of skins,
They removed the ability to earn Blood Bonds (premium currency) at the end of a match which was the main way of earning them with you being able to earn around 300 a week. However, now you are only able to earn them through doing the weekly challenges and only able to get 50 a week. Furthermore, most people I have spoken to do not really enjoy the challenges as they sometimes force you to use specific loadouts which I find very annoying. The aforementioned change means that to get enough blood bonds to buy all of the skins is to buy it with real money.
While these changes are very frustrating, I could understand as apparently CRYTEK are experiencing money issues (I don't really buy it, the game is fairly priced, they have a boat load of DLCs, the ability to buy premium currency and a lot of players on the game. So I don't see how they could possibly be running out of money)
However, For everything becoming more expensive, I am not really seeing much of an improvement to the game. There are bugs in the game that have been there for a few years, the same rate of content releases and the same awful servers that don't run well.
Again I love the game but these recent issue make me lose faith in the game.

The UI also looks abyssmal in the newest update

As much as I enjoy this game want to give a good review, I can't.
The game is a lot fun and enjoyable to play, Looting and doing quests is a lot of fun. It's a great time dump. The quests are all enjoyable and well thought out and the maps are both stunning and feel great to play on. I haven't encountered many bugs and the few I have encountered have been fixed fairly shortly.
Futhermore, the game is visually great looking and I love the atmosphere of the world.
However, the matchmaking is abysmal, they use the amount of loot you get out of a game to decide your MMR, they don't use skills, kills or even the loot brought into the game to decide what game you are placed in, which is completely flawed and I don't see why they ever decided upon that choice. You may have a few good games and the game decides to move you up some MMR which is where I currently am, I run Green and white armours (The two worst armours in the game) and I'm not the best at PVP and I am being place into game with people with Blue and Purple armours (Two of the best armours) and high tier guns which I do not stand a chance against. (I got killed by someone using purple armour and a red weapon just earlier while I was running a white kit). The people I play with as well are annoyed by it, we have played about 5 games today and every game we got killed by someone using at least blue armour while running low tier kits.
There is also the issue of cheaters which I have only encountered a few, but the times I have it is infuriating.
I fully enjoy playing this game and play it almost daily but recently the glaring issue with the matchmaking had annoyed me a lot and had even made my usual teammate stop playing.
