I wish it was good. STALKER was my life from 2017-2020, met many friends in the community, and was a formative gaming experience for me. I first played it when I was 4 years old, before I knew how to read.

I was optimistic about this, but the updates are laughable, performance is really horrible (I built a new PC just to play this game), and it is shallow.

After you are 6 hours in the game, you start realizing how shallow it is. Please note: it does not get better. If you do not like it 6 hours in, you have passed the best and most content-rich part of the game.

PLEASE DO NOT GET THIS GAME, SAVE YOURSELF SOME MONEY. If you do not have a nostalgic attachment to this series, it is not worth it. Even if you do, you will regret it.

I do not regret spending the money on the PC and game, but I have a hole in my chest because of the difference in what was promised, and what was delivered.

It's a nice reason to revisit the original trilogy. It has a new facelift, the textures and shaders look better. A little rough on the edges, as the original was, but comparing them side to side, this one is definetely better out of the box.

I enjoyed my time with this short 15-minute game. It's a simple but visually appealing game, and its biggest strength is it's interesting visual style. The gameplay is relatively simple, basically wandering through a maze, but it's pleasing enough to look at that I enjoyed even this simple task. If you want an interesting way to spend 15-20 minutes and see something beautiful along the way, for 3€, you can't go wrong with this.

What can be said about this game? It's a classic - a wonky game in 2020 if you look just at it’s gameplay, but still - the sheer amount of attention put into this finely crafted world is amazing.

Fallout takes place in a timeline that split at the start of the Apollo Program. In this timeline, the technology and general society took a different course (The technology became advanced, while the society stayed nearly the same (Raygun Gothic w/ advanced tech). In the 21st century - a war started, a war that would end humanity as we know it. One thing lead to another - and nuclear bombs were dropped on many cities, turning the earth into a wasteland.

That was the story presented in a shorthanded way without the spoilers.

But believe me - it goes much deeper. The world Interplay created was a living - breathing, ruthless world, filled to the brim with details. There are many quests - secrets, easter eggs - and areas you will miss in your first playthrough. I do not think anyone can truly explore this game inside out. The gameplay is bad and janky (in my opinion) - but it has purpose. And I really think that speaks volumes about the game itself. I hate people who like old games for the sake of it - and I can’t stand an “unfun” game. But Fallout isn’t unfun, you may wrestle with it’s UI and features for the first few hours - but after you learn it, it is tolerable.

After that, the game shines. I really wish I could tell you some insanely interesting quests - full of lies, big reveals, and huge turns. But I can’t - I can’t because that would ruin it for you, and the fun of a first playthrough. The quests in this game are nicely crafted, they range from experiences where you connect and uncover a huge conspiracy point by point, and dot by dot - to simple “fetch-quests”. And even then, these “fetch-quests” have a turn sometimes!

And the finale... Oh god, the finale. It’s a perfect culmination of everything you’ve learned, in-game, and in real-life. It puts you on the spot, and it asks for something difficult from you. You can’t beat this game easily without truly standing behind what you say - morally.

The game doesn’t hold your hand, I’d say it’s brutal - but it’s not. It just treats you as an adult and entrusts you with paving your own adventure, lined with your own thoughts - opinions, and beliefs. Did you ever play a game that (probably) has a different outcome based on your personal beliefs and political alignment? It forces you to make some really tough decisions - and I’m not talking like “Nuke an entire city - or don’t.” kinds of decisions. I’m talking true morally grey decisions. Because if you decide to pick up this game - get ready for a finely crafted world to explore - and get ready for an game where you get truly immersed in the that isometric world.

It is a genre defining classic. A genre defining classic that has an truly immersive world for you to get explore and influence.

A solid recommendation from me.

This was my first Fighting Game ever! I had a friend who played some, but I never had the balls to jump in because I thought it was too complex. In retrospect, I probably wouldn't have played this as my first fighting game - it being an Anime Fighter and all - for anyone looking at getting into fighting games, this isn't the best place to start. Well - at least not the ideal one. Despite this being a -very- complex game, with a huge roster of characters, and more mechanics than a repair shop - I still sunk a insane amount of time into it in just the first few days while grinding away.

This was my gateway drug, and for a reason. It's snappy, had acceptable netcode (if you're on the same continent) - and is well balanced for the most part.

You will get your ass handed to you, multiple times in fact. It is hard not to give up, but all the work pays off when you finally do that combo in training mode... and then you get hammered in an online match again! But (at least for me) it lights a fire in you - a fire that drives you to become better, to learn the mechanics and the game - and to stand a chance against players that you couldn't even contest before! It's really easy to call a character "busted", a move "unfair" - but that's just the first part of becoming better, because after dying to the same move a hundred times - you have to learn to survive the one hundred and first time. Every play has a counter play, every move a weakness - and every character a downside. It's like a much, much more complex version of chess, where you are making split decisions on which side to attack, which side to castle on - where to advance your knight and which diagonal to put your bishop on.

When you're getting styled on, it's no fun - sure, but it's a 1v1 multiplayer game, there has to be a loser! Plus, the best part of the game is when you hammer somebody who has been styling on you for the past session.

Maybe this isn't the most in-depth review, or even the most compelling argument to get this game - I see that. But you can never put this game into a text review, nothing can capture the feeling of landing a combo that you've been practicing for an hour in an actual fight.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's a game that gives you the fruits of your labour. The game where you improve - and not your character.

For me, this is the definition of 4X games. Everything in this game is so well done and executed, that apart from some problems that stem from the age of the game - there is nothing I have to complain about.

To understand this review fully - I'll need to preface this review with some information. I wasn't a 4X strategy person, I enjoyed chess a lot - but 4X? No. This game single-handedly got me addicted to the genre. People say "One more turn." for a reason - this game is extremely addicting, and even when you go in with zero knowledge - the game pulls you in, and doesn't let go. I'm not a strong player, in fact, I am extremely bad at this game, I don't play multiplayer, but the mechanics of this game keep me entertained for hours and hours on end. I haven't scratched the surface of the game in my 112 hours of playtime - but still, just building a strong economy and beating down the AI gives me immense pleasure.

I shouldn't like this game - I really shouldn't! I hate games that drag on, I dislike the higher level of "strategy" games (as in, grand(er) strategy), I hate games that are slower paced, I like action every second - and I really hate turns. So why do I like this game? I wish I could answer that question, but it's just a testament to how amazing this game is, for me (a person that tends to stay away from strategy games) - to like it.

I'm sorry if you - the reader, expected an analysis of the gameplay. But I really thinks that's not the greatest way to approach this game, since on paper - I wouldn't like this game - but it's casual enough, with enough depth - for me to have a lot of fun just messing about and spamming the end turn button.

Well - at least, that is my experience with it.

Downwell is a game where you learn the mechanics - not the levels. It's a fast-paced action roguelike, that has the player making split second decisions all the time. The concept is simple, you're a boy that's falling down the well - with nothing but your gunboots to aid you with the journey.

The concept gets more complex as you realize you only have limited shots, and that you only reload when you land on the ground - or on the head of a foe. I would call this game bullet hell - but it's a bit more relaxed than that. The game only takes about 30 minutes to beat - and runs are really fast (kinda like Spelunky). This (at least for me) makes the game perfect to boot up and get a few runs in before - or while doing something else. There are many standalone games, but these types of "get a few runs in a day" games always end up being the best over a long period of time (also like Spelunky!). Fun fact, the creator of this game thought about this idea -while- playing Spelunky. Huh.

With the base price of 2,99€ - and with regular sales going low as 1,49€, it's a game worth getting.

It's a good game - crazy good game. I wish it had more Steamwork features (achievements) though. Steamworks features have been added! Thank you devs!

In FTL you take control of a space ship to deliver very important info to the other side of the universe. It's not about piloting though, it's more of a game to test your wit and guts during butt-clenching combat encounters! This game is RNG, but not RNG enough to make your run decided by a roll of the dice. A skilled player can play through any bad RNG! It is a rouge-lite, so every time you die you go back to the start - no saving unless you are quiting.

The artwork is great - and the gameplay is good enough to keep you entertained, but it does require constant pausing (actual feature) to plan your next move. It's kinda like chess, but it differs in the way that's it's much more complex and you can't plan out moves too far forward (a bit of RNG keeps it fresh). I really wish there was more content, and that it supported Steam Cloud saves. This is a game where -everything- is viable, and even the dumbest strategy is just as good as the best one. You just need to play out the choices though.

It gets repetitive, the core stays the same - but everything around you changes, which is good enough for most games - but this game's core is such a big part of the experience that it ruins any replayability after a while. I have friends with hundreds of hours - and that is because it's addicting. Even though I say it's repetitive, if you dig this game (like my friends and me), you'll be able to sink some serious time in it.

Overall - a butt-clenching experience that keeps you on your toes at all times.

Honestly, it's not really for me. I loved my time with it at first - but after a while it became more and more mundane - sure it's polished and not a bad experience, but it feels like there could be more. It's a watered down version of literally any other game in this franchise. I play and own every Fallout game ever released (except 76), and this one isn't bad - but I really can't reccommend it to anyone since it's just a dissapointed.

Of course, I seem like a Fallout: New Vegas fanboy or the like - but I always give every game a chance, and the reasons this one is dissapointing:
-watered down dialogue
-unclear dialogue choices
-you get too strong too early
-cliche story
-more action less RP (subjective to taste)
-not enough choices
-choices that exist lead to the same outcome

It had a lot to live up to, and it could never succed. It is a good game - but it really isn't a good Fallout game. I did enjoy my time with it to an extent, and I can't call it wasted time. But damn... wasted potential.

The ambient tracks in the background while you are doing stuff is fun. Definetly not even close to the best stuff to listen on your own though. If you are nostalgic about this - maybe place the music in the background while you are doing mundane stuff, and it could just spice it up that much! (and make you replay Half-Life 2)
