Between nightmarish unlock challenges and horrible map design this game is not nearly as good as expected from the beta. I can't remember the last time I got spawn killed this much. I had to uncheck 2 maps so far because of how poorly designed they are. I'm confident as things stand that I won't be unlocking a lot of things due to how ridiculous the unlocking system is. These are things people have complained about for DECADES, stop doing it!

Update: First major patch is worse. Worst battlepass ever. People always joke about dev teams not playing their own game, but sometimes that is actually true. It's very obvious the dev team aren't gamers.

Update 2: They broke challenges in the process of making them easier, refuse to acknowledge they broke them. They are somehow doubling down on the segregation of the community by adding NINE MORE GAME MODES. Literally nobody asked for any of this nonsense. DICE please.

My total playtime was how long it took to finish the game. It's incredibly short. So that's the one thing I will say in terms of value that you will probably consider negative.

This is less a game and more a cinematic experience. It would be better to compare this to a miniseries than another game. There is little depth to the gameplay, but the story is fantastic. The visuals are the best out there. While I suggest comparing this to a miniseries the reality is this is a far better medium as the experience *playing* the story is very different than simply watching. The only challenge at any point is the various moments of combat which present themselves also in a very cinematic way. The rest of the "gameplay" is linear story telling and traversal. While there are puzzles, they are very simple. Although the gameplay is shallow and easy I found it still worth the experience for the story and would put this in my top 4 stories all time.

I'm going to keep trying I guess but I don't get the point to "survival" games I guess. It's a digital job, you harvest resources to upgrade your tools to harvest different resources to upgrade your tools to... There's no endgame. The combat is basic and boring. People end up building big cool bases and then quit, because there's nothing left. I thought the game looked like NMS without the space exploration, but it's even less than that. I'm a huge Dune fan and visually this feels like Dune. But I feel like an NPC in this game and that's no fun.

If I wasn't a Marvel fan and interested in the story, I would have refunded. I thought about it. The combat part of the game is the only part that was really worked on, yet the game design makes this inconvenient to access. In fact it really feels like 2 completely different games were fused together here. One is a Marvel tactics game, the other is a dating sim that isn't for straight people. It's super bad. Outside of combat the models are all the same, do the same 3 poses, and stand really weird. It's so so bad. I'm glad I got this on sale and feel sorry for anyone that paid full price for this.

I was prepared to refund at the 1 hour mark. I decided to give it a second chance and thankfully the modding community had around jumped at improving the game right away. I downloaded multiple mods to improve issues with the game that were not performance or bug related but rather design related. That's the real issue here.

There are no fans of this game, regardless of any positive reviews you see. Everyone complains, just some people ignore the problems. People complain mutants are too durable, the "fans" tell you to just run away. People complain the repair costs are too high, the "fans" tell you to just ditch your gear and use whatever you find instead. People complain it's night time too often in a game that has zero night vision and the worst flashlight ever made, the "fans" just shrug. I'm convinced nobody actually likes the game, just some people tolerate it.

Once I modded the game to be playable I found I didn't really even understand the point of the game. There are no RPG elements to this game, you don't improve yourself in anyway. There are random hidden stashes to find which contain 4 bullets and stale bread. You do side quests with a reward of coupons which you hope are enough to pay to repair the gear you are wearing. The game simply doesn't feel rewarding. You just exist in the zone, as miserable as all the NPCs you interact with. It's a game of suffering.

It's free. There's nothing stopping you from trying it. There's a boss during the campaign that is getting a lot of people stuck unfortunately. Someone posted a video of one descendant melting this boss solo and their first balance patch is them explaining this is perfectly acceptable and not even addressing how hard the boss is for every other descendant. They want you to buy an OP descendant. I'd rather uninstall.

I guess in concept the game can be fun. It's very shallow and they really don't want you to be equipped to fight armored units at all. If you have a good squad to group up with you might enjoy this a little while.

This game is fun, especially with friends. It came out years ago and hasn't seen an update since 2022, so ignore the current release date since it's probably a bug. Still a fun looter shooter from a very creative developer.

If you crave a Battlefield like experience without the bad gameplay like Battlefield, this is it. Played 6 hours straight with a group of friends and can't say I've had a more enjoyable experience in a while. It's not perfect, but better than most. Sound track is fire.

Very fun arcade space game. Reminds me of Rebel Galaxy except with more depth. The story is whatever. Looter shooter is my favorite and this checks those boxes.
