It's good.

I have small children. We have amassed a significant amount of wooden train pieces and such. In the real world you always feel like you are missing "that one piece" you need to get your track to do what you want. Plus, the smaller children crawl all over the tracks and mess things up for the older children, pieces get broken, etc. This one-time buy solves many of these common frustrations.

Because there are virtually endless options in building your layout, it is not to be expected that your small children will be able to do much on their own with this. You will need to still be very much involved for your children to navigate the menus and construction. My five year old pretty much just helped tell me what he wanted the general layout to be and then just enjoyed the mode where you "drive" the train. He could pick that part up pretty easily.

Just like the real world experience with wooden trains, do not expect hardly any automation. This is very much transferring the joys of playing with a wooden train set in real life over to a digital format. You place tracks and scenery down, you drive your train around, you rebuild anew. That is it and that is perfectly fine. It keeps me more engaged with my children since its with technology and I don't have to be down on the floor. I'm very happy to have paid for this product.
