The RE2 Remake is something I stepped into not playing the original trilogy before stepping into this experience. This is my first experience within the new RE engine that has been updated and used since 7.

I loved every second of it and it motivated me to play the originals so let this be my,"Coming to a close" take on this game and I'll bullet point to make it snappy.

>Puzzles were interesting and drove progression, made it feel like I was owning the space and making it safer by being there.
>Mr. X is a delightful menance that forces you to do a dance with avoiding him, making me have to plan my routes.
>Plenty of resources but it never felt like it considering how tanky a lot of the enemies are and variably behaved, so you can't create habits.
>While not completely true to the original, what it offers is really strong and I could tell they paid attention to minor details from the original to create this game.

Some things I wasn't super happy about,

>Shared playthroughs had events happen in the original RE2 that were caused by my original runs events, this is now absent and now I know what the term "zapping" is and I wish they did that for this game.
>2nd playthrough progression is wonkey at times and confusing at worst during certain portions till the game gets on track again from the original route, but these times were very few and far between, and only persisted for the opening portions of the second run.

Overall, I'd rate my time with RE2 remake as a crisp 9/10

Truly an unforgettable experience and I will definitely be coming back to platinum this some day.
