This game is unfinished.

Quest design is atrocious (get quest on point A, travel 15 minutes to point B, interact with an object, return to point A to deliver the quest, get second quest, return exactly to point B again...)

Combat is janky, repetitive and shallow. Feels weightless and floaty.

Also 0 PvP so far, and i've been several times in shipwrecks, looking for ppl just to try it out.

TLDR: Mediocre grindfest leeching of a known IP.

17h in, and I'm just playing to justify myself that I paid 70€ for this s**t.

This game throws me back to a time when I didn't have to pay rent.

10/10 would pay again.

The gameplay is good enough to get you playing but after reaching the endgame you understand what this game is all about.

Frustration.

I will not go into details, but when you look into what you need to farm an ultimate descendant you will understand.

- I've farmed for 2 hours for a 25% drop chance "box".
- I've farmed 30 minutes for the "key" to the said box (It only took 30 mins because I had the needed descendant types to farm it faster, each took many hours to farm, craft and level (3h + 16h + 2h)
- I then opened the box for a 10% drop chance (16% if you use another rare item) of a 1 out of 13 parts that I need for the ultimate descendant, all equally lengthy while spamming the same thing over and over.

And thats JUST for the "base" descendant, you would still need to grind every other aspect of it, the formas which reset your descendant level each time you use it, the mods, the activators, etc etc..

This game is made to make you waste your time, get pissed that you lost your precious time and compensate for it with your credit card.

This product is a scam. I bought it, logged in, talked to the 1st quest dude, got dced, back up again, got dced, up again got dced, after that I played for a few mins, till they asked me to go kill the broodmother, I got stuck on the loading, relogged, requeued for the dungeon and started dpsing the broodmother, she got stuck inside a wall, had to relog, got stuck on the loading again. ♥♥♥♥ companies like this.

unfortunately the game only works from 1am to 10am, otherwise you are either stuck in a queue (up to 9h queue on a regular monday), or simply the matchmaking doesnt work due to lag, even when you just want to enter a dungeon alone, leaving you with nothing to do except islands and quests.

until fixed, if ever, I cant recommend to anyone sane

ps: easily 60% of my 248h are in a queue

- Im a fan of TR since TR 1 back in sega saturn.

Ok, for the review,
pros:
- the game is stunning (graphics wise).
And thats it for pros.

cons:
- the game is excruciatingly easy, from puzzles to combat, the game offers no challenges for a normal person.
- story is bland AF
- the series is ruinned this was my last TR
