So far I like the game a lot, but it seems to crash whenever it tries to pull data from some server. For instance, in the skills menu: Pressing 'Y' for more experience - which I assume takes you to some in-app purchase. The first crash happened at the end of the first 'mission' with the male character. There's a assessment screen of some sort, and it crashed there.

Since the game doesn't want to be played, I don't really know how much more effort I'll bother with putting into this.

this may sound dumb, but there's a somewhat simmilar bug in farcry 3/blood dragon that causes the game to crash after a while (though this is assuming you're on windows 10). The bug is that some part of the game engine (for whatever reason) flips out and crashes when you have the "TabletInputServices" running (which it is by default). The good thing though is that all you have to do to fix it is go to the task manager, find "TabletInputServices" under the services tab, and stop it by right clicking on it and hitting "stop". May not help at all but it's worth a shot

There are no microtransactions whatsoever, not at least in the singleplayer campaign. Also, both characters are male.

From my own experience, uPlay is a perfect client. Then, I tried the version that was bundled with this game among a few other uPlay titles and realized exactly where the complaints were coming from. My recommendation? Delete uPlay, download it from the actual website, and install THAT version, then sign in with the account you made already for this game.

play with uplay in offline mode and with uplay overlay off. i know that works for other uplay games so it should work for ac3. worth a try!
