The game that introduced me to the first person shooter genre, half-life is story-rich and has plenty of challenging and satisfying action. Still well worth playing if somehow you haven't done so yet!

I've enjoyed all the recent Wolfenstein games, and this latest addition to the series is no exception. The gameplay in particular is excellent, whether taking a stealthy approach, or using combat. I also like the fact that it encourages trying both approaches - mixing stealth and combat (as it helps keep things varied in comparison to games that encourage choosing one approach only during a playthrough). My only criticism is that the frequent returns to the sub broke up the story too much, and were a little boring.

This game offers some seriously intense adrenaline-pumping combat. It's rare for me to get so worked up about a game that I'll shout profanities at the computer screen, but that has proven to be a frequent occurrence with Shadow Warrior 2... in a good way!

The only negative I can think of is that the maps are somewhat repetitive, as they often re-use the same areas as previous missions (albeit with slight alterations each time), but the end result is that revisiting the same areas multiple times can become a little tedious by the latter half of the game. However I still whole-heartedly recommend the game overall.

Still has the best mechanics of any FPS game, in my view. Movement and weapon balance are just right.

Shadow warrior is one of the most enjoyable games I have played in a long time. A mix of first person melee and firearms, upgradeable skills and weaponry, secrets, humour, and hordes of demons to satisfyingly chop into little pieces. What more could you ask for? Certainly if you're after a modern fast-paced first person action game, don't hesitate to give this one a try.

I wish more games were like this - it's great fun!

Anyone who has not yet played DX: HR (and Missing Link) is missing out. It's a more than worthy successor to the original. Also appears to be 75% off right now.
