Definitely the best WW2 shooter I've played, and I've played every WW2 Call of Duty, Battlefield Medal of Honor game to date. The system for spawn point creation allows for limitless tactical approaches which offers amazing replayability for an online shooter. This game plays more like a first-person real-time strategy game than a shooter, and I cannot say that about other game I have played.

The system for controlling an objective is also incredibly well done, further allowing countless tactical approaches to the capturing and the defense of an objective. Instead of just loading the objective area (in HLL, the "cap" circle") with enough troops to outnumber the enemy, and holding that superiority overtime, you can simply have numerical superiority in the four map grid sectors around the objective to essentially force the other team to retreat due to attrition.

As far as smaller tactical details go, as a squad member you have limited communication--with your squad mates and your squad leader, as well as a local voice chat to communicate with nearby friendly troops not in your squad. Squad leaders have both of these chats (squad and local), as well as a command chat to communicate with other squad leaders and the commander. This is a huge improvement over communication systems prevalent in other game series, such as Battlefield, wherein you are limited to communicating with your squad members.

The commander role is very balanced and is definitely a thankless role as opposed to a position of power and tactical autonomy. Squad leaders call in supply to build garrisons (team spawn points), resource nodes and defensive fortification, and armored squad leaders can call in armored vehicles such as tanks and armored personnel carriers.

The tactics of the game-- and ultimately the success of the team--hinges on the accumulation and allocation of resources. These resources are used for everything from supply drops and vehicles to the calling-in of air support from bomber and fighter planes. The three resources are munitions, manpower and fuel. Munitions are generally used for supply, manpower for calling in air support as well as other more immediately-beneficial mechanisms. Fuel is used to spawn in vehicles. If you decide to be overambitious with your heavy tank and find yourself surrounded by enemy infantry, you have essentially wasted 600 units of your team's fuel once you are knocked out due to anti-tank.

This game is immensely tactical and infinitely fun. I highly recommend this game to all tactical and strategy gamers, even to those of you whom do not typically enjoy shooters, as this game has a lot of periphery support roles whiles are quite fun, such as engineer.

Early Access Review
Needs a lot of work. Currently not worth the money nor time spent playing the game. Very inconsistent and the crew management/discipline system leaves a lot to be desired. Furthermore the money system for obtaining resources such as fuel/equipment/spare parts/food makes no sense as if the U-Boat commander had to pay to resupply his submarine everytime he went to port.

Not a proper simulation but has some cool animating and graphics.

This is a very good game, although I would recommend buying it with all of the DLC, as there is a big difference between the "vanilla" and "complete."
